I still think the following

1. Romo is nothing but an AVERAGE QB

.

You can't truly believe that Romo only average. Maybe we define it differently, but there is a LOT of room between those that are just average NFL QBs and guys like Brady, Manning, etc. I have to think Romo falls easily into that category...certainly top 25-30 percentile.

Also, are you saying average NFL QB or average starting NFL QB? I assume the latter, otherwise you would be even further out in the woods...in my opinion of course.

Ok... this is my point of view so here goes..

IMO

Elite "proven" current active QBs (in no particular order)

1. P. Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Brett Fave (lets start the favre-romo comparison if you like)
4. McNabb
5. Drew Bress
6. Big Ben
7. Rivers

QB's that I think will be much much better than Romo in time

1. Flacco
2. Matt Ryan
3. Aaron Rodgers

How do I see Romo?

More or less like the following

1. Kitna
2. Hasselbeck
3. Jake Helhomme
4. Bulger
5. Culppeper
6. Aaaron brooks
7. Rodney Pete

QBs that have sparks here and there.. but wont ever consolidate
Wow...I hadn't gotten to this post yet. You are flippin nuts!:laugh2: :lmao2:
To be fair, your top list seems pretty decent.
Your middle list refers to the future, and the discussion was about current NFL QBs...how they are now. I agree that Flacco, Rodgers and Ryan will have nice careers.
That bottom list is where you really go completely off the reservation. That is kind of extreme. Romo = Aaron Brooks? Rodney Peete? uh...wow.

I challenge thee....oh drama queen and over-user of emoticons to get your point across because you generally don't have much of one....to find a post where I've been a "homer".

Or does questioning the extreme idiocy of the self-proclaimed "realists" automatically make me the polar opposite?

But he did next to nothing every single game. Naturally, the posts will reflect that reality. Were he an Ogletree type that we picked up for nothing, no one would be complaining about his measly production. But we all know that's not the case.

Or you could take your own advice and ignore the "heretics."

but i don't want to. again, you make silly assumptions that puts things in pre-determined phases for you.

Don't get mad.

You are going overboard...

And there is an anchor tied to back.

It's November 9, 2009.

Not February 8, 2010.

honestly not trying to start an argument with you here, but it seems the other day i was trying to say you were going overboard on something and i was told more or less HOW DARE I tell you how to post.

just curious how this would be fundamentally different that you can tell others that but it's D time when someone tells you that?

Romo is on a "not so well coached" team, with "decent" players. I had the guts to compare him to Rodney Peete becuae I think that Romo is just a "transitional" QB that will hold the position until the next Staubach or Aikman comes.

You are aware Aikmans don't grow on trees right? I assume you are also aware what we had between Aikman and Romo?

Dallas has won 6 of 8 games in a 16 games season.

They haven't done anything yet. Yes, I am as excited as anybody over last night and how they've done the last 9 weeks, but there is still a LONG way to go until this team and these players can truly shut the critics up.

Be exstatic, but stay in the realm of reality. This ride's not over yet.

What can I say, I was responding to a post directed at me, just like you were responding to the OP's casting call.

So you read an unflattering description of certain Cowboy fans and immediately thought to yourself, "Hey! He must be talking about me!" But if you don't fit that demographic, then you have no reason to feel slighted or insulted, right? Right. Good luck with the raving paranoia.

Simple. I didn't tell him how to post.

I just told him the post was stupid.

He can post stupid stuff all day for all I care.

Did we win the Super Bowl yesterday?

No.

So is it time to start spouting off that everyone in the world who criticized Romo, Wade and Cowboys a fool?

No.

And you obviously agreed that the people who thought the OP's post was going over board and was stupid were fools.

So you therefore agreed with it 100%.

You went homer.

Just pointing out that you are wrong, you don't like it, that is your problem.

It isn't fair, but some people like to pretend that it is. I don't expect "fairness and balance" when I come here, but how 'bout some class?

You want class, you gotta give some. Hard to take you serious when you complain about it and you are just as guilty of it even if you don't start threads.

Where are the posters who said we were going to win the Super Bowl 2 Seasons ago?

Where are the posters who said Drew Henson, Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson or Ryan Leaf were going to be good?

None of that matters and it's just silly to go back and try to call people out.

This is a message board and you are going to have a myriad of opinions, some more strange then others.

But with many things, extremists on both sides always have to prove that they are right.

Quid pro quo. Why is it that the "realists" have to make all the concessions?

who emphatically make statements about...

Romo sucks as a QB?
Wade sucks as a coach?
The Cowboys can't replace T.O.'s production?
The Cowboys are a worse team w/o T.O.?

Do these people just quietly disappear into the shadows?
and then return at a later time trying to act like they never doubted?
or do they just immediately change their tone w/o acknowledging their stupid remarks?

I see some here make an "I was wrong" thread and good for them. But there have been alot more naysayers in the past 9 weeks than there are I-was-wrongers owning up to it now.

Not just here in the Zone but on TV and everywhere. Some of these people were really emphatic and combative with their statements. They need to eat it and eat it bigtime. I'm tired of the comments made so strongly without there ever being any accountability for it... that's why these comments are made to begin with. These people should be wearing a "scarlet letter" for the remainder of the season.

It's only week 10 and who knows what the Cowboys will be by season's end.
But Romo IS a top-knotch QB, no debate. Wade IS a hell of a coach and T.O.'s release IS an improvement to the team on all fronts and his production HAS been replaced entirely.
The last time I checked, this was a free, public forum. Therefore, anyone is free to voice their opinion as long as they are in compliance with the forum guidelines. You might not agree with people saying Wade, Romo, Garrett, etc. sucks, but creating a "call out" thread to add humiliation and pat yourself on the back for not publicly displaying discontent with a certain member of the organization is just as classless.

Some people really take this forum and what people say on it way too seriously. There is no rule that says that a poster cannot voice a complaint and then change his/her mind later. If someone wants to make it public that they were wrong, more power to them, but to expect everyone that said something wrong ever on this forum to show up and make a public thread is a bit ridiculous. Relish in your own rightness without calling other people out and move on. If you are still annoyed by those posters, the Mods have set the ignore feature in place to be used at your discretion.
