What if Dak starts the season 6-2?

I care about Romo too much to bring him back at this point, regardless of wins.

I was hoping Dak could sit and learn, but it looks like we don't have that luxury.

Your question should be more like what if Dak starts 4-2, there is no way Romo misses 8 games especially with a Bye after week 7. Romo gets injured often but he also pushes the recovery timetables pretty hard.

I honestly don't care how Dak performs or what our record is. I don't want Romo to ever take another snap with this team. His act is tiring. Move on from him. We have to pay him anyways. It's a sunk cost at this point. There is no point to keep doing this year after year.

I just don't see why he can't do that well or better. This season should be about our running game regardless who our QB is. Timely throws to Dez and lets get rolling. I just hope we design the offense around Dak now, more zone read etc. he has wheels let's use them!!

Obviously there's a whole lot that Dak can't do as well as Tony BUT there's some things Dak can do far better than Tony and that itself may offer some optimism while Romo is out.

Also, this was a similar situation of the Patriots in 2001 when Bledsoe got hurt for a long time. And Brady took over and they never looked back. Bledose was even more established and more successful than Romo was. Took them to a Super Bowl. And he never got his job back when he got healthy. Only other time he played was when Brady went down in the playoffs. Bledsoe came in and won the AFCG and still got benched for the Super Bowl when Brady got back.

Get your diapers ready!

DFWJC only wants to win if Romo is the one guiding the ship(and he's ready to go down with that Romo led ship). If this team is 6-2(and they will be), it would be moronic to bench Dak or any QB, especially if they're playing at a high level.

I like T. Williams, if Butler starts to out perform him, I'll treat Williams like never knew him! I have no attachment to players, I want to win!
Yeah I have no love for Williams somebody takes his spot so be it
It'll be sweet if we have that first pick next year to spend on a monster DL

I just hope my friend Linehan builds an offense around Dak.

I wouldn't even begin to draw on a Bledsoe/Brady comparison BUT I understand the point.

Hey if Prescott can avoid being a "car wreck" and could maintain say a 90 passer rating... This team would be fine IMO.

I'm finally starting to see guys who treat this team like it's supposed to be treated. No ONE PERSON is the Dallas Cowboys. You either want the Cowboys to win, or nothing. Since Terrell Owens, I've stopped falling in love with players and have fallen in love with the team. My goal is Super Bowl, EVERY year. I don't care who wins the super bowl as long as we win it.

I see people are consoling themselves from this bad news with lots of booze. There is no scenario where Romo comes back and doesn't start for this team. They could be 8-0 and Dak could have completed 220 passes in a row, and he'll report directly to the bench. This is Garrett and Jerry we're talking about. Any day now, Garrett will announce that Romo is the starter when he returns. Garrett kept trotting Cassel out there last year when he was playing some of the worst football in Cowboys history because "he gave them the best chance to win"... which was clearly him saying he was a veteran and the other guy had never started a game.
Not that it matters, Garrett and Linehan will "design" a system so Mickey Mouse for Dak (despite Dak showing he can do a lot of things already) that even if they go 8-0, Dak will simply be a bus driving cog and no one will bat an eye when Romo places him.

Why look that far back, why not look at what Brock did in Manning's absence last year... Course Manning then came back and won the Super Bowl... Sounds like a better scenario to me
