What if we drafted Ramsey, would Darius had rushed for 1400 yds?

I am one of the ones that believe that Daks success was due largely to the fear that Zeke put in defenses. You can't deny all the things that Dak did well, no matter who the running back is, but the defenses he had to face were much easy to disect when those teams had to worry so much about Zeke breaking the big one on every play.

I don't want anybody to jump up and down and say I am not giving Dak any credit because I absolutely am, he played great last year, he converted third downs and did much more than you could ever hope for but other than Leveon Bell, I don't think there is another RB in the NFL that is more feared than Zeke and Fournette will not even be close either IMO.

Ramsey last year would have resulted in Cowboys taking Dalvin Cook this year.- and probably a bit earlier in the draft.

Well one can say Zeke's success was in part due to the best run blocking OL too.

Also, Elliott was the most complete back that's come out in the draft in several years. It was his talent COMBINED with the offensive line that made for such a great season.

Oh and as much as I liked Darius Jackson as a developmental player....you're comparing Darius Jackson to Ezekiel Elliott?! The guy who is in a RB battle with the Browns?

By the way, Ramsey is better than Elliott right now? He improved over the course of his rookie season and has a bright future but give me the guy who fits our offense perfectly and loves to run all day for 1600 yards and 15 Tds over the guy with 2 ints.

In addition, you dislike him because you don't like his smile? Or that he is being a dumb 21 year old kid who hasn't broken the law? The stories you've seen referred to as "shenanigans" were overblown and proved to be nothing. If he has a wacky "feed me" celebration then he's earned it.

And yes, you are right, that video was for fun, he can't use his celebration for fun? He wasn't going to do anything else in the video. Each player did something they were known for.

You think he epitomizes today's youth? As a millennial, I am proud to say that the perception that our generation is entitled is wrong. I've spent the majority of my life around peers who care deeply about their future and the world around them and want to do good.

As far as Zeke's entitlement, here's a quote from him, "When you're used to competing at a high level every week, you have no choice but to grow up fast. I mean, you grow up fast or you get left behind. "

Also, this quote:

When I got to Ohio state, I was a skinny 17 year old with a team of a bunch of grown men. I was trying to figure out how I’m going to separate myself from these guys who were bigger, faster and stronger than me and I was like, man the only thing I can do is I’ve got work harder than them and do what they don’t want to do. At that point I decided I was going to become the best blocking back in America and that’s what I did.

And this quote from his RB's coach at Ohio State:

What I remember sitting down and talking to that family in the recruiting process was the admiration and love and respect they had for each other,” says Alford. “That shows up quickly when you sit in a young man’s home. It might just be a gesture of mom slapping her son on the knee, just patting him on the knee when they are talking or when they sit down and they have a whole room they can sit in but they all sit down scrunched up against each other all on one couch. Things like that show up.

On one last note, Zeke is a Cowboy, Ramsey is not. Done.
Nailed it!

I know its against inferior talent, but isnt that what Dallas' O Line makes the NFL defenses look like. Darius never came on the World stage with a corny half shirt nor did he pull a womens top down.

I know I know hes a Cowboy with 1600 yds on his resume.

But that cheesy smile is kind of annoying. Hes got intitlement written all across it.

1 season greetness followed with those shenanigans .

Just let the poor kid eat! That's all he wants.

Hypothetically speaking...would have been a much more compelling arguement had it been Ramsey & Jordan Howard, who was selected in the 5th rd. by the Bears & finished 2nd to Zeke in rushing.

Hard to argue with the 2016 draft though. And if Jaylon & Tapper pan out, that draft could be epic.

Biggest recent hypothetical hindsight for me, is still wishing they'd have drafted Danielle Hunter in the 3rd vs. Gregory in the 2nd in 2015.

No, but 5th round rookie and league runner-up rusher Jordan Howard may have rushed for 1500-1600, since he ran for 1300+ behind Chicago's line in about 13 games.
I'm happy with Zeke anyway:thumbup:

And I just love how the uninformed think the Cowboys could "just pick him up" if Cleveland ever released him. When did the Cowboys move to #1 in the waiver order?

The team screwed up by releasing him, deal with it.

They made the mistake of keeping Lance Dunbar so he could do nothing but take the NFL's leading rusher off the field. Whatever idiot thought they could pass him through waivers needs a shot upside the head.
I agree. Dallas has been making great decisions but releasing Darius wasn't one of them. Cleveland isn't cutting him and if they do he will be claimed off waivers.

It's not coincidence that once Cleveland grabbed him they won a game and avoided 0-16

It's been mentioned time and time again about what a mistake they made on that one. Overall, it was an epic draft in 2016, all around, including drafting a young future backup in Jackson. The undeniable mistake was in changing that mindset and releasing him rather than any number of other players who weren't helping you or weren't in your long term plans.

Not only did you lose the player and time invested, you put yourself right back in the position of needing to look for another one for the future. 6th round pick wasted, and both McFadden and Morris one step closer to joining Dunbar out the door.

But if he was the rookie last year minus Elliott he would of stayed with the team and would have made the 53 as the 3rd Rb but compared to RBs on this team he would have started by week 10.

If he became the starter last year doesnt matter we were one and done any way.

But this year hed be our starter.

What if's......

The Cowboys needed a RB going into last years draft. So what if they drafted Ramsey at number four, do you think they would have waited until the six round to draft a RB?

So with that being said, what if the Cowboys would have drafted one of the thirteen RB's that went before Darius, would Darius be the starter and run for 1200?

What if's!

I disagree, Zeke is a generational type player who transforms our offense. Ramsey is not and would not transform our D
Zeke didn't transform our offense. Arguably he didn't even have a better year than Murray did in 2014.

Our offensive line transformed our offense. That's offense sans Zeke has 4 first rounders not including a hall of fame tight end. Not one of those all. Pros could "transform" an offense. It's the consistent investment there that makes the unit great.

Jalen would have been but one such investment on the defense. It's the type of investment you HAVE to make. That's why it's so dumb to hear about how Jalen wouldn't transform a defense. It's a logical fallacy.

Viewing things with the Luxury of hindsight is one of my favorite what if games. When you're doing it after a dominant year and questioning one of the key cogs, you're doing it wrong.

If we're not talking about a transcendent pass rusher or qb in place of zeke it's dumb. We made out quite well

We got our cb with the ABrown pick.
Brown couldn't sniff Jalen's jock.

And why couldn't we have drafted Jalen and Brown? Is that illegal? Do you just play one defensive back?

And that ignores the fact that it's harder to find defensive back talent than it is to find running back production. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE 3 ALL PRO DEFENSIVE LINEMAN (caps for emphasis because people keep ignoring this fact).

Zeke is one of the highest paid players at his position. That should tell you all you need to know about the excess value we're throwing away on a top 4 pick.

With the guys we drafted this year We get to have our cake and eat it too. Rejoice

Eagles, Commanders or Giants. I'm sure you're a fan of one of them and you're just here to troll us.

Almost all skill position players that make it the NFL have terrific college highlights. For example, Vince Mayle looked incredible in college highlights.

If you don't care about level of competition, current Cowboys RB Jahad Thomas had better highlights than Darius Jackson.
