How does a passing defense that sucks predicate for Romo to play mistake-free football? It would have to be the exact opposite, cause we would need Romo to overcome a bunch of scores.
The reality is, against the Giants, we had 6 TOs and still only mustered 22 points on offense. Romo threw for 263 yards on 49 attempts. The idea that this offense adjusted to a poor defense isn't substantiated by facts, especially our first game.
The funny thing is, the only time this offense is scoring is in fast-pace mode. Against Minnesota for example, we scored in 3 (4 passes out of 5 plays) and 2 minutes accordingly in the second half for our only touchdowns. We got a defensive score right after our first score of the second half. Our last TD on offense, 9 out of 9 plays, all passes.
This conservative plan seems to be by design. I remember Bradshaw going off on Callahan the beginning of the season about how this is scheme and Callahan and it's awful for Romo.
