I am telling you Robinson wouldn't have played ONLY 6 games had that team not been tanking. They saw they weren't a title contender as they had been yearly and wanted a shot at Duncan. No one is blaming them but only the silly argue they just gave it their gosh-darned all and tried to win games.

They fired their head coach ~20 games into the year and job tank was in full effect then. DR never came back and they sat Elliot down when he clearly could have played. They made zero moves to improve and ate the losses. But came out the next year loaded and ready to win 56 games.

they tanked yes, but it wasnt that early in the season. robinson got hurt, he couldnt come back, so they shut down elliot and went for the lottery pick, but it wasnt some premeditated move that happened pre season or early on, it happened because robinson couldnt play because of his back, they couldnt hold the fort without him, so they said ****, lets just shut down our second best player and try to get the first pick.

so again, im totally agree that we tanked to get TD, but not until it was obvious Robinson would miss most of the regular season and our team wasnt good enough without him to compete.

Decent squad, but not good enough to beat Oklahoma City, both L.A. teams, and San Antonio.

Mavs may pull a Spurs and tank for someone. Who is the king of next years draft?

Cooperstein said there was some talk of being interested in Kaman. I think he'd be a good pickup. He's a pretty decent player -- again, for what he is. And he and Dirk are friends and played on the German team together.

It's very hard for me to be enthusiastic about the Mavs, not just this year, but next year as well. I don't care who's available in 2013 on the FA market. They won't be coming to Dallas. For some unknown reason, big time FAs don't want to come to Dallas. They want to go to NY, LA, or Miami. But not Dallas.

even miami was super random, i think if wade hadnt been there already, they would have all gone to the nets or knicks. even with all that star power, and being as good as they are, the heat lost money last season, thats just pathetic...FAN UP, MIAMI!!:lmao2:

Thats because their star is white. If Dwight Howard were in place of Dirk all the stars would have been here thru the years. Dirk isnt in Da Club lol. Plus he is a Euro. I think thats fairly obvious. However it made it even more special beating the Superteam in Miami last year for the ring. Screw em.

Wow are you really playing the race card? :laugh2:

Steve Nash is white yet plenty of guys including Howard wanna play with him. Race has nothing to do with it. Players don't wanna go to Dallas because their team isn't good enough to compete with the truly elite teams like the Heat, Celtics, Thunder, Spurs, and Lakers.

It's not necessarily a race thing, I've heard the same from multiple sources. Dirk isn't a brother and he's viewed as an outsider by most players in the league.

Uhhhh......Steve Nash is Canadian. So he's white and from a different country, sounds kinda familiar

Come on guys. Dallas has been to the playoffs 12 straight years.
They always seem to have good players.

This is a situational window right now. With Dallas missing on DWill and having a bunch of old farts, they want to hit the reset button. Some stars don't want to wait that out and you can't blame them.

On the other topic.....
Has there been racism towards Dirk over the years via certain players and press--100% for sure there has been. Nobody could ever deny that with a straight face. Barkley (not saying he was) has even said as much. There a bias there for a reason given all of the Euro-stiffs that came into the league in the early years.

I think for the most part that has faded away--even though leading up to the Mavs whipping the Heat there were still some of the same Detroit crew (Webber, J Rose, etc) that were having a very hard time ever giving Dirk credit. Kenny Smith (God belss my Tarheel brother) also has always worn the bias goggles as well. A lot of the NYC playground guys still carry some of that bias.
I think Dirk going off in the Finals fianlly shut up the final holdouts.

it has 0 to do with dirk why players wont sign in dallas. it has everything to do with players wanting to go to huge markets like LA or NY, a party city like miami (wish the spurs would have moved to austin :banghead: ) or just stay with their franchise.

hell, when was the last time a big time free agent signed with the celtics? or sixers? or the bulls? thats why the mavs cant be chasing pipe dreams and need to concentrate on rebuilding through the draft and the bargain section of free agency or with good trades.
