1. Ruger 10/22 ( I already own more ammunition for it than I will probably ever be able to shoot)
2. Fishing rod.
3. First Aid Kit.
4. Para Cord ( I can make a noose in case the above items dont work out)
5. Life Straw.
6. Toilet Paper (Poison Ivy sucks)
7. Multi tool.
8. Hunting Knife.
9. Really good Hatchet/Tomahawk.
10. Wife.

Some of it may depend on type of disaster or apocalypse and do I already have the backpack to pack the items in.

1. a solid 8"-10" kinfe, thinking a clip point bowie, good all around blade with many uses
2. a good axe
3. firestarter kit
4. small handcrank generator, most also charge by solar and have AM/FM and weather bands
5. rope/paracord
6. stainless steel canteen
7. small sealable pot for boiling water, cooking, etc.
8. Semiautomatic Rifle haven't decided on caliber but something suitable for defense and hunting game
9. Tarp, can be used for shelter, tent, water collection, carrying found/scrounged items, etc.
10. Probably a good Survival Guide or Plant identification and Use Book. Nature is now gonna be the pharmacy, grocery store, building supply store, etc.

Starting with those ten items should keep me going a while until I can scrounge/acquire other things.

It all depends on what kind of zombies we're dealing with here. And yes, I've put some thought into this.
If they're the "walking dead, night of the living dead" or any of the lethargic and slow zombies than it's not zombies you need to worry about, it's the d-bag people who will rape and pillage all of your goods.
But if they're the "World war Z or 28 days later" zombies we're screwed because they are on bath salts AND you need to worry about people.

Personally, if it were up to me I would make it mandatory that a person's ankles will be shackled upon death. Problem solved.

Well I’ve already been in disasters. Aside from water, food, and first aid kit...my feet, common sense, instincts, wit, and eyes have always served me best. And the big man to see me through. That’s about it. Oh and my music...not going out without dancing on my terms.

The authorities will be happy to know you're not bringing your car.

Think the authorities would just be happy I’m gone. In real situations? All hell breaks loose, and no one obeys laws. Tell you all something else too. DON’T ever listen to them,or news. Just as much morons as anyone else when the crap hits the fan. Listen to your own little “fight or flight” voice and do as it says. Learned my lesson...more than once.
