I saw a rookie QB who played like a reasonable bus driver. I'm hoping he has a high ceiling because at this point ... I'm looking at Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, Brandon Weeden, Matt Cassel ... all over again.

I don't believe he's our savior or our next franchise QB.

I was extremely impressed, though he was far, far better with a clean pocket.

I'd love to see what he could have done if he'd played with the Giants receivers. Aside from Cole we don't have any guys who can get separation. And we don't have any speed on the field.

HE has poise. He's excellent throwing short from about 10 in. He played mistake-free. His downfield throwing leaves a lot to be desired right now. He needs to improve. That was the difference. Eli makes consistent 20-25 yard completions over the middle. Dak has to be able to do that.

Even if this is all he is, he's at least a decent career backup, possibly a starter. We might even be able to flip him for a hyigh draft pick. But I'm skeptical he will ever be an elite quarterback. I don't understand why we didn't go for Carson Wentz.

He's no Tony Romo.

What would Romo have done differently this game? We barely beat the giants last year and needed a come from behind win. We could have possibly won this game if Terrance Williams knows how to get out of bounds.

Dak took what was given. Only made a couple impressive throws really but other than that was just solid.

When the who's who of vet backups was marched through here last year it was Capt. Checkdown this or noodle arm that. But guy that has been here the hold preseason its is he took what they gave him....

Prescott is OK. Just needs some time. This game was predictable. I really thought tbe Cowboys played better than expected and it was much closer than l really expected. Do not despair...it will get better. Garrett is a clown and needs to go ASAP!

It would have been a totally different game with Romo because the Giants wouldn't have had the same defensive game plan. They would have known our QB was a threat.

Dak played well today, the receivers overall were horrible today missing critical passes that would have resulted in TD's.

This conservative coaching staff was not going to allow Dak to consistently throw down the field all day.

Only time will tell this story but thus far Dak looks good and hopefully will continue to get better with more experience and work!

RedZone performance needs work but Dak can not both throw and catch the ball at the same time and in the same relationship!

He has a cool head, and im excited to see him grow the next few years. I think they do have Romo's successor.

This game left me thinking he has a lot to prove...and a lot to learn. The team sold out to stop zeke and they did. Dak did not make them pay for that. If they did that with Romo in the game Dallas would have put up 60. I know everyone is jumping on Williams and he definitely made the wrong decision, but Dak did not make a good choice there. He needed to get the ball into someone's hands inside the 40. I dont think a vet makes that pass and I think thats something for him to learn from.

Im still very encouraged by Dak though because like i said at the beginning...cool head. He has all the tools all the composure and the mind for running the offense. He just needs some more exposure to the league. I think it would be great if romo came back in October and took over for a season and a half but even if they can get through this season, Dak is real close to being ready.

I think we need to coach Dak to take some calculated risks down field and push the ball, back those safeties up. He's great at playing without making the big mistake but we need him to have some swagger.

He needs to make some tight throw attempts so he can get a feel for what he can complete and what gets picked off.

You remember who led that come from behind win, right?
