It wasn't a completely different game last year when we had to come from behind to barely beat the Giants in the opener.

Yes it was. It's been a long time since I've seen such an ineffective running game where your lead back gets 50 yards on 20 carries.

Are you just simplistically looking at the final score?

Comparing Prescott to a vet like Romo. lol Of course Romo is better. That's why our pre-season was a disaster. On the other hand you can't count on Romo to be healthy anymore.

Of course. Not yet. Remember Romos first few YEARS. Hard too watch. Prescott is a student and as such did very well. Lets talk again after 8 games.
Didn't Romo make the Pro Bowl 3 of his first 4 years? What was so hard to watch?
And there's not going to be 8 games. Prescott will be marching back to the bench in early October.

That's fair but those who think this team has a better chance to win with Prescott than we do with Tony got a big wake up call today. He was solid. I'm not knocking the kid. Tony Romo wins that game, though.

Not bad.....not sure the coaching staff will help him. Where is all this offensive guru BS we been hearing?

And this game illustrates why I'm not a fan of Dez Bryant. His entire game consists of out athlete-ing defenders down the field and winning contested catches. He's not a route runner. He struggles to separate. He's too easily frustrated and taken off his game.

When things are going well he's beastly. In times of adversity he disappears.

I felt like i was watching a re-run from last year, with this offense severely handcuffed. As for Dak, i don't think he got enough help from Zeke, Dez or TWill to make a difference. Beasley has to make that catch for a TD in the first half.

I'll say this again....Dez Bryant is nothing more than a jump ball receiver...can not run any other route, can not make a 1st down on key 3rd down plays.

Dak should benefit once we get Zeke rolling.

Unfortunately I agree. I'd go as far as to say nearly his entire portfolio is based on his red-zone work, particularly inside the 10. He's a great touchdown scorer from up close. But he's never been all that vital to the game plan between the 20s.

We have a better chance of winning but I've seen us lose some boneheaded games with Romo qb'ing too.

I think he looked great. Even with a high pitch count, he still looked composed throughout. If it wasn't for 2-3 dropped TD's and a completely blown game winning drive, this game was a win.

How do you think he faired his first start?

I don't even know what to think of the QB at this point. Did anyone really watch the game and wasn't able to tell if we were going to run it or pass it? It was so vanilla that I thought they schemed more in pre-season than they did in the regular season. We don't establish PA and throw it down field. We run screens with Witten. I'm just so incensed at what I saw out there today. Morris was playing well, just as he had in pre-season. But yet we keep giving the rock to Zeke rather than stay with the hot hand. A complete joke by the coaching staff.

Personally, I expected more from Dak but moreso because I thought he might be able to overcome the coaching staff like Romo has done which was the reason for my optimism. I was wrong.

You cling to that irrelevancy. Make it your binky.

Flip the teams. Do you think Philly beats NYG and we lose to the Browns? Wentz did well today. Won't knock the kid, but he lined up against South Dakota State today and we played, well, an NFL team.

The young man played well, he could have had 2 TD's on his stat line that were dropped. He's very mature for his age, has a good arm, good mechanics, good mobility and seems to be a smart guy. Zeke and our WR's let us down today. Zeke was shaky in his first game but I see him getting better and better as the season goes on. The line did not just block for Alfred M, he just had more patience and vision. Zeke will get there, could be as early as the next few weeks.

You're on the wrong forum. If you want to pull for Philthy the Iggles Forum is down the internet round, head East.

As bad as Dak looked with this roster, Carson would have looked a lot worse.

Sure. No argument. Romo is the better man at this point. Prescott is a raw college student. I am only saying...he played well...everything considered. I honestly thought the Giants would eat him for a snack. It was close and he didnt humiliate himself or the Club. That was a positive. I imagined much worse!!

Or we could have used Alfred Morris more, who was looking significantly better. We threw several 1st downs down the drain because Zeke didn't get more than 2 yards a carry. If Terrance Williams knew how to get out of bounds, we very well win that game on a Dan Bailey field goal, and the score ends up being not much different than the Romo come from behind victory last year.

That Romo is really elite. No way in hell we lose that game if Romo is playing today. Not bashing Dak at all, but he still has quite a bit to learn. Romo would've had a 350 yard, three touchdown day.
