If i remember correctly...During the Bronco's game he said he was alright, and he could go today if the season started....

What happened after that? how did it get so big? i don't remember reading that he did further damage to it.

He tried to give it a go the next practice after the Broncos game. That's when they discovered it was more than just a bruised heel.

Analysis: Expect Burress to miss the finale and be questionable for Week 1 at Dallas. Burress has two sore ankles, back spasms and is getting over the flu -- it's been a rough offseason for him. Expectations should be tempered on him. He's still a No. 2 Fantasy WR, but be careful when drafting him because this preseason has been tough.

Sit him against the Giants!

If it makes anyone feel better, the Gints are hurting in the sec too-Sam Madison and possibly Will Demps will be out for wk 1.

The sky is not falling. I believe the coaches, both offensively and defensively, will make the needed changes. Wade was hired for his 3-4 defensive experience. DL pressure will cure everything. Quick, name the Steeler's starting CBs. Even if you can name them, they aren't very good. They live/die with blitzing and pressure. And Polamalu is no better at coverage than Roy imo. And Wade's Cbs last year weren't very good. Wade knows what is needed. The defense should be better than last year even without T-New, barring further injury to others.

Garrett will also have to make adjustments to make up for T-New if he can't play. Maybe Garrett will open it up/gamble more and try to strike early and often, get a lead and let the DL pin their ears back and attack. Or Garrett may play it more conservative and try to control the ball more and keep it out of the opposing offense's hands. Bottom line: The offense can make up for no T-New maybe more so than the defense.

If T-New is out, the key may be on the Cowboys offense more than the defense. Which adjustments will Garrett make? The good news is that the Cowboys have the weapons to attack(Romo/TO/Glenn/JJ/Witten) and control the ball (OL/Barber/Witten/Fasano).

i think the ellis injury should be worrying people more than newmans. everybody knows with no pass rush it don't matter how good the secondary is. with ellis out we will still lack pressure. carp can't rush the passer and spencer has done nothing so far. teams will continue to doubleteam ware which is still our only good pass rusher

If he's out; he's out.

Wade supposedly can create any 'scheme' for his players to play.

So why worry, at all?

You realize that we have had 4 sacks in the preseason and none of them by Ware. I am not arguing the point that Ware is our best pass rusher, he is. But Wade will bring pressure from everywhere. I don't think the offense will be able to just plan to double Ware every play like last year,, if they do,, someone else will be left alone. The impact of Ellis out, will not be the same as it was last year.

Personally, I won't be watching any Cowboys games this year. Why bother?

We're DOOMED.

Good grief. Ellis is history. I don't think Wade or his DC are losing sleep about him anymore.

Time to move on from the usually-adequte Ellis into a new era of Spencer who will be great.
Ellis himself is not sure he can play, so why would anybody count on him?

Newman or Ellis?
I will pick Newman to worry about and not someone who might not even be here on opening day.:)

I have read alot of the threads from the "sky is falling" to "everything is OK".

Has there been any official word from Newman or the Cowboys?

I don't think we'll hear anything until the official injury report comes out... and then he'll likely be questionable... so we still won't know much.

That's football for ya.

Thanks guys.

As I said, I read some of the threads and although we have Newman out already all the way thru the first 3 games, which could happen, I just hadn't read anything official.

I read also that someone stated that we shouldn't play a CB if they are only at 70%. But understand, I would rather have Newman at 70% as opposed to our backups. As long as it doesn't hurt Newman in the long run.
