Again, how many of us predicted that a "prove it" season would not go well for Dak & France?

This is far from something no once had any inkling about.
Imagine how much better shape this franchise would be if Jerry made Dak play on a "prove it" deal. We would have options next yr instead of being stuck in 3rd place with a $60 million QB

Goff has elevated his game. He’s clearly better than Dak at this point. Dak’s game has cratered. He’s really playing poorly right now. Very very poor level of play.
How many guys on the Cowboys offense would even start on the Lions? CeeDee, Tyler Smith, anyone else? Zack Martin vs Kevin Zeitler is probably a push at this point in their careers.

If Dak upgraded 7 out of the 10 starters around him, and Goff downgraded 7 out of 10 starters around him, both QBs would give you very different results.

If the Cowboys hadn't resigned him before the season and let's assume he played the exact same way, what would his contract value be right at this very minute? 40M AAV?

Also, name the NFL teams that would be fighting tooth and nail to sign him. Raiders? Who else?

Jerry Jones has made a catastrophic mistake.

The only way the dak extension made sense was if they were actually going all in and bringing in talent. But to extend him and not bring in anyone just makes zero sense. It's like they are looking to rebuild but not rebuild at the same time

Goff is standing behind the best o line and run game in the nfl. Can't compare the 2. If Goff was here with these players and coaching stadff i don't think he's any better than dak

Let's just say it wouldn't be $60 million a year, as a matter of fact I could see JJ showing Prescott the door if he hadn't resigned this bum.

I get the anti-Dak sentiment right now, but you're all acting like agents and the NFL Players Association doesn't exist.

Any deal Dak would have gotten on the open market next year would have been similar to the one the Cowboys gave him. Period.
From who ? Who is this team that sees $60 million value in Dak Prescott ( besides our GM Jerry Jones) ?

Kirk Cousins >> Dak.

KC - $45 million
Dak - $60 million

There are plenty of examples of guys making far less who do better.

You have to play the market, not reset the market (unless you truly have an elite guy).

Dak would have absolutely set the market as a free agent even coming off a bad year. That’s the entire leverage his agent used on the cowboys.

This isn’t about me wanting dak back or not- I’m fine moving on or if we did

I disagree. Assuming no massive turn around, no way he gets $60 million (kind of idiotic he got nearly a 10% jump over the next guy as it is).

And that's only if the Gnats don't find a decent QB.

Trevon and Steele extensions are looking really bad too. But this Dak contract is a cataclysmic error.
Error? Yes...is he going anywhere, anytime soon? No. This horse has been beaten to death many times. He's still dead and will stay dead. What's the point of beating him anymore.....
