The point is, even if QB's require some coaching, you think that a QB that's had the problems that Bledsoe has had for his entire career, is going to be "coached up" to perform as he needs to in an offense that stresses no negative plays and no turn overs?

Puhleeze...he was the worst choice, outside of Vinny, for an offense employing that kind of philosophy.

Anyway...uh, yeah...1 1/2 years later, Parcells pulled the plug on something that should never have been plugged in to begin with. So he gets credit for rectifying a problem he caused.

It got to a point where even Parcells couldn't stick with Bledsoe any longer...that's more of a statement about how BAD Bledsoe has been rather than how Parcells set his arrogance aside.

I think it had to be this IMO. Nothing else makes sense. Bledsoe is what he is and he has been so for a very long time. I can not imagine why you would limit yourself at the QB position, knowing that you have problems with the OL, in such a way otherwise.

I think that's just part of the make up. It's a down side you must accept with Parcells, IMO. However, he is still an extremely good coach. A hall of fame coach IMO. Unfortunatly, nobody is perfect.

Well, it's not only that but the fact that he is the worst kinda QB for the offensive philosophy this team employs.

He loves to make the deep throw. That's always been his strongest quality. He has never been a guy who simply manages the game.

Parcells PERFECT QB is the one he drafted who starts for the Jets. If Parcells had brought in THAT kinda QB, it would have made a hell of a lot of sense.

He's not done. He can still be a very good QB in the NFL, if he were to get VERY GOOD protection.

Too bad there's only 1 or 2 QBs in the NFL that get that kind of protection.

1 being Peyton Manning and the other being whoever we happen to be playing that week.

Yeah...we looked like beasts that day...and we got to him early...and rattled him...and he just tanked the rest of the game.

And that's one of the reasons I found it MIND BOGGLING that we brought him here. They game-planned to his weaknesses and beat the daylights out of him...what on earth would have made the same people not think that other teams could do it just as easily, if not, easier because we didn't have great talent on that defense?

Because Parcellls believes all the hype about him being one of the greatest coaches of all time. I'm sure he thought he could fix Bledsoe because he is Bill the great one.

Beast is bored and was curious as to when others on here started to realize Drew was done.

It was in 1999, when even those benighted Pats fans calling for Michael Bishop sounded like they had a decent case.

Ya know, ABQ, I understand and accept that I have been anti-Parcells for the better part of three years. So I might not be objective any longer.

Part of my problem is with his arrogance. I don't care if he wants to be arrogant with the media, etc. I only care to the degree that it impacts the team's performance.

Now, it's obviously conjecture on my part, but I think part of the problem was that with Bledsoe, Parcells felt he could "coach him up". That in fact, he had the answers the other coaches didn't. And that is part of why Bledsoe was brought here...more than it just being a gamble.

I'm with you, I don't give rat's patoot what the media thinks about a players ability. Yes, I think Parcells did foolishly believe that he could make wine out of water with Drew and that's why he needs to go. He's never really understood why the 2003 team was successful.

I just wish you had seen what he did to Ernie Zampese's timing offense in NE.

BP seems to be a great judge of talent for the most part but he also has that quirk of loyalty for the has-beens such as Bledsoe. We don't have an OL that protects statues.

On another subject, I think its about time we do something about Roy. I know folks will be upset with this thought but I bet Roy, one of my favorite Cowboys, makes a better OLB then a safety. We need more speed at SS.

Roy was just 'one biscuit away' in '03, but I doubt Bill has the energy for that experiment now.

Roy kinda plays like a LB anyway and would be great for short coverage across the line. I think Watkins is going to shine; another Watkins would be a good choice for safety.

I'm with you there. Even when the Patriots got rid of him, there was a clammer in Dallas about getting him...He was just over .500 as a lifetime starter then and he's still just a hair over .500 as a starter now.

Granted, he's been better than anyone else since Aikman left, but everyone knows that doesn't mean much.

Too bad though, he seems like a great guy, but that don't win games.

Whether we win another game or not, I'm just glad we are on to the next guy. Maybe Romo will be the one. Until then, at least it will be exciting to watch games not wondering when the killer INT will happen.

I'll just watch the games knowing if Romo does well, great. If not, hey we are one step closer to finding who is.
