When Did You Realize Drew Was Done???

You ARE an idiot, just not about Bledsoe. :)

I just wish you had seen what he did to Ernie Zampese's timing offense in NE.

The entire concept escaped him. Had to be scrubbed outright.

:laugh2: well its nice to be right about something

BP seems to be a great judge of talent for the most part but he also has that quirk of loyalty for the has-beens such as Bledsoe. We don't have an OL that protects statues.

On another subject, I think its about time we do something about Roy. I know folks will be upset with this thought but I bet Roy, one of my favorite Cowboys, makes a better OLB then a safety. We need more speed at SS.

...or get a solid FS so that Roy can be freed up to do what he does best.

Anyway...uh, yeah...1 1/2 years later, Parcells pulled the plug on something that should never have been plugged in to begin with. So he gets credit for rectifying a problem he caused.

It got to a point where even Parcells couldn't stick with Bledsoe any longer...that's more of a statement about how BAD Bledsoe has been rather than how Parcells set his arrogance aside.
now we're back to QB options... "they don't grow on trees". half the haters wanted to draft Lefty instead of TNEW.. the same QB about to be benched for his backup. That would have been a great pick. i especially loved the calls for Warner and Volek (another flunkie cut as backup) and and such and such. you wanted to get jake (drew junior) or brunell? not alot of options with a club needing 98% new roster.

you present no realistic alternates and fail to recognize the possibility that we might have groomed our future QB - in spite of jerruh's itchy finger to sign clowns like quincy, hutch and henson.

Drew Junior, huh?

Plummer, first three years, ratings of 91, 84, 90...Bledsoe has yet to have a 90 rating in his career. Plummer sacked 41 times, 5 lost fumbles in those three years. Bledsoe was sacked 49 times, with 8 lost fumbles last year alone!

So yeah, I would gladly have taken Plummer over Bledsoe...and I said so back then.

In fact, my guess is that every QB who was available to us has put up better numbers.

Leftwich, who started as a rookie has better numbers.

Delhomme has better numbers.

Kurt Warner has been a shell of himself and his numbers are clearly better. I always saw Warner as guy who fumbled if you yelled "Boo" at him...yet in the last 4 years he's lost 15 fumbles to 24 by Bledsoe. And his ratings are also better.

Brunnell SUCKS and his ratings the past two years are better than Bledsoe's.

I'm not saying I'd be thrilled with any of these guys but please, spare me. The numbers are clear. The worst QB of the ones who have been available is Bledsoe.

spare us. you wouldn't be thrilled with any of them so again who were our options for QB given our current roster and QBs signed to contracts (thanks Jerry!)? Say we signed some overpaid flunky like Snake (drew-jr performance in the big game)... who is to say with authority Romo can't be more effective this year or next anyways.

What exactly is a Hater?

What's wrong with wanting to draft Leftwich? Warner had a much better year statistically then did Bledsoe last season and even now that he's been benched (In favor of a first round pick) he was still having a better year statistically, then Bledsoe. Volek, in my opinion, would be looking pretty good as our 3rd buy right now.

I guess I'm the guy you had in mind when you made this post. Let me just say thou that we also wanted to sign Hasselbeck when he was an FA. We wanted to draft Simms in the 3rd round, we wanted to sign Brees, Delhomme, Kitna and Bulger when they were all FAs. We wanted to try and trade for Carr and we wanted to try and move up to take Leinart and Roath when they both started slipping. We never wanted to sign Bledsoe in the first place. Call us idiots.

hater is someone who cherry picks the bad and downplays the good or surrounding circumstances 'cause they just hate or don't like the guy... in this case juke w/ tuna is a shining example. :)

Agree on BOTH points!

Bledsoe will be back in 2007 leading a new team....DONE DEAL....

You know part of me thinks that is possible, but as I try to think of teams what would potentially want Bledsoe as a starter, I don't come up with many. Now there are several teams that might like him as a guy to keep the position warm until the young guy takes over or as a backup. But who would want him as a starter.

The only names I can plausibly come up with off the top of my head are Celeveland and Detroit. Neither of those would be locks and I'm sure it would end up a disaster. Drew gets a job likely only if a franchise guy like say Peyton Manning were to have a terrible injury IMO. We'll see. I think he might be best off retiring. I don't think he is a HOFamer, but he's had a nice career.

One might say that you with Romo is an example of this as well. If I recall, you were pretty heavy on Bledsoe earlier in the year. You thought there was no way that Romo would be starting ahead of Bledsoe. I think it's a bit unfair to characterize as such. We have all been guility of this to a certain extent. Are we all then Haters? If that is the definition, then I suppose we all are.

It's a big ole club I guess.

Well you're right about one thing; hindsight is 20/20. I'm more bothered by the fact that BP narrowed his selection at QB when he brought in Testaverde and Bledsoe, so we weren't really developing the future except with QC who turned out with extracurricular problems. I'm also bothered by the fact that Romo or any of the other potential QB's including Henson, albeit Henson proved to be a dud, got little regular game time to develop their skills.

lol... not really... i thought no chance for Romo as i didn't think Bill would see Drew as futile this season, wasn't sure Tony would be ready and didn't think JJ would be onboard given his FA $$$ expenditures. but that is not hating... romo is an unknown... i like his smarts and attitude... lets see how he does thru 4-5 starts.

the typical hater of tuna goes like this (mostly fits juke too)... hated Tuna with Giants and credits his second superbowl to Norwood wide right and both to LT. Pompous, old-school and out of touch with today's athletes not FOBs. Begrudingly credits him for rebuilding the Jets/Pats franchises and knew Belichick was the "expert" based on what he Brady did for NE post-Tuna. Now, despite the boys being in a state of decline since '94, tuna is to blame for not winning a playoff game yet and even worse not drafting Troy reincarnated. :)

i didn't really want Drew here myself... but the contract reasonalbe and voidable other options rather meager or unrealistic.

Well, I probably have turn myself in as guilty. I absolutly hated Parcells when he was with the Giants.

What can I say.

Dare I ask when we knew Troy was done?

I think you have to qualify that. As one of the top 3 or 4 QBs in the game or as a professional QB?

As one of the very best QBs, probably 97-98. He was still very good but not exactly the same.

As a Pro QB, I'd probably his final season. Just too much time missed.

Rack;1121058 said:
He's not done. He can still be a very good QB in the NFL, if he were to get VERY GOOD protection.

Too bad there's only 1 or 2 QBs in the NFL that get that kind of protection.

1 being Peyton Manning and the other being whoever we happen to be playing that week.

LOL. True.

When he was released in favor of freaking j.p losman i started to believe he was done...
