No doubt this is Tonys team. He should play. We're not ready to get on to the future yet. We wouldn't want Romo to get a ring on the bench.
Lol

The only thing worse than Romo not getting a ring would be the next guy getting one with same team. Think about how that would affect his legacy. OMG
I would love to see Tony get a ring but in the end it doesn't matter as long as the Cowboys get one. I'd like to see another SB title before I die.

As long as Jerry is still alive its Tony's team and thats fair. He is Jerrys favourite son and he has earned it. Its better to let Prescott play as much as possible to get the experience. It seems at this point he may be the future. The club will not go far in the play offs with this defense.
Of course , Romo has allowed Jerry to be a football idiot and still have a relevant team.

Deep down we probably have some fans who want Dak to have just enough success to keep the season alive for Romo but not too much to where we don't want Romo back,

The Romo rhetoric has already begun. Romo's #1 cheerleader Jerry started the damage control after Dak's first win. Amazing but predictable .

Its pretty sad actully. One poster came on here first thing after the win and cried about how much he missed Romo.

It's predictable . Romo has almost single handily kept Cowboys relevant despite the idiocy of Jerry. Fantasy Fans have flocked to the Cowboys. Romo is a great American Cinderella story. These fan forums are driven by his fans. They aren't going to let go that easily.

I'm about as sure as sure can be that Romo will happily reclaim his starting status around midseason. Also, the team as a whole should benefit by it as long as Romo is fully healed from his current injury. Dak is respectfully willing to give Romo his due and that's to his credit. He will have the valuable opportunity to continue his schooling under Romo and the staff. That should serve him well in the long run. If Tony is unable to sustain his healthy status in the meantime, Dak is sure to be called upon to "save the day." Ideally, it could and should be a stable situation.

Tony has been good for the club and represents himself and the NFL in the best possible way. No argument. He is, in football terms, at the end. Its time to plan for the future and with some luck the Club may have found the right player in Prescott..l am not jumping on any bandwagons about a raw college talent but he has looked good up to this point and everything considered.

If Dak kees playing the way he has and we have a solid record, they better not bring back Romo. The fans and media would be outraged. I can see it now. "Romo has a rough game 195 passing yards and 2 interceptions, they say he is just rusty and will do better soon"

The future is now. Dak is our guy and he is better than Romo.

You don't look THAT good unless you are legit. Dak is the real deal.

Romo defines the word class. He has represented the Star well. Jerry would have had to build a team much sooner without him and why he's eternally indebted .

It's always difficult cutting the cord . And it might not be time yet but we're getting close.

Dak could still take a nosedive . These next 2 games are very winnable but the schedule gets much tougher following. Dak will have some struggles and our defense could still cost us more games. We still might need Romo to save the season.

But if we're rolling along and Romo is not himself will be interesting to see how a controversy plays out. I'm not sure anything less than an injury gets Romo out of the lineup.

I am not saying he isn't...far from it. I have a real good feeing about Prescott. I temper it with memories of RG3..Rex Grossman..Matt Leinart etc who started out blazing. I really hope the Club brings Dak along properly and that he becomes the franchise QB the really needs and the fans truly deserve.

Im the biggest Romo fan there ever was. I just care more about he the Cowboys and the future. "right now" means little to me unless I feel "right now" has a legitimate shot at being great.

Tony is only getting a ring if he goes elsewhere.

I think it depends on how the team is doing. Say Cowboys are 4-2 or 5-1. The team is believing in Dak. I think you keep Tony on the bench and here is why - the team over the years seems to have such a fragile psyche (even read Crawford's comments after WAS game). To put Romo back in WILL affect chemistry. Timing will not be there and the first turnover will have the team second guessing. So my answer is let's see what the record is and then decide.

Most Cowboy fans first believe Romo provides us the best chance to win " right now". If he's healthy I'd have to agree.

But there are other contributing issues . Like do we have a legit shot at making any noise this year whoever is our QB? And if we aren't a contender does it serve our future to give Dak more experience ?

this team will not make it to where we all want to go without him as the starter,

This is where the big disconnect comes in for me with you guys. Where exactly do you think Romo is taking us? You are living a pipe dream if you think he is taking us deep into the playoffs or the SB. Even 100% healthy.

yeah you are disconnected, because he can and he will. He has never had, never had a complete team and even now it is not complete but it is as close as he will get to having one his last few years in the NFL. You call it a pipe dream and I say if you think Dak will lead us to any where close this season or even next that is a pipe dream. I believe Dak will do great things, but now, the present is still Romo's

Dak is the real deal. I believe that. I did not want Wentz or Goff if it meant that we would miss out on Zeke. So our draft went like I wanted, got Zeke and Dak . I either wanted Dak or Hogan, Hogan because he ran a pro style offense at Stanford, Dak because of the poise he showed and continues to show, IT was something that he has that drew me to him, I would say it is that IT factor
