When will the Conference Championship curse end?

Yeah, I lost track with Rodgers. But before the mid 90s? There was no conference championship game in the first two super bowls. Thos Cowboys/Packers games were NFL league championship games.
Just to sort this out: 96, 97, 98, 08, 11, 15, 17, 20, and 21, were the years the Packers were in conference championship game (all in January). Barring a fake wiki edit that’s what I found.

The problem is Cleveland and Washington are not close and Miami probably not getting it with Tua as he is very bad in the cold which can be problematic for January football.
Cleveland has a shot. Miami has a shot. Washington got rid of their Jerry Jones so the future is open for them. They only need to put it together one season - something which Dallas is incapable of under the management of the JonesBoys.

Face the reality. The Cowboys will be all alone as the only major sports franchise without a conference title game appearance in the 21st Century. We will likely be the only NFL team here in 10 years or less.

It won't be the current team. It will take a rebuild and a new coaching staff. Bring in Belichick to head coach and Jimmy Johnson to GM. If Jerry lets them do what's got to be done, we will be a serious contender by 2026.

Correct

We can’t pay Dak and win so we gotta wait for Dak’s career to be over imo.
Dak has not been here for the last 30 years. And I'm not a Dak apologist.

If Dallas does not think he's worth what he's asking, they don't have to re-sign him

When Jerry stops role modeling that money is the 1st priority...then the players might make winning the highest priority. But how can a billionaire ask a millionaire for a discount?

Ok. I just didn't understand the post I quoted. Maybe I was just misunderstanding the OP.

Can you explain this to me? Is that up until the mid 90s? I don't think the Packers have been to 8 conference championships in their existence. I could be wrong.
I mean Rodgers alone has been to 5. From a quick Google, Favre also has 5, and presumably they did quite a bit before that.
Packers' NFC Championship game appearances___
1) 1995-96__ lost to Cowboys
2) 1996-97___won over Panthers
3) 1997-98___beat Forty-niners
4) 2007-08___defeated by Giants
Brett Farve was the QB in those four games; Aaron Rodgers was the backup (following his third season) for that last appearance

5) 2010-11 ___defeated Bears
6) 2014-15___lost to Seahawks
7) 2016-17___beaten by Falcons
8) 2019- 20__defeated by Forty-niners
9) 2020-21 __lost to Buccaneers

Green Bay's overall NFCCG to date - 3 wins, 6 losses

San Francisco- 19 appearances ___8-11 record
Dallas- 14 games___8-6
Philadelphia- 8 NFCCG__4-4
Washington ___5-1
New York Giants __5-0

Only when an elite HC, along with an elite QB, are acquired which could overcome the Jones family football operations dysfunction but only for a season or two.

Or put another way...
Other than the above unlikely occurrence happening, I won't live to see another championship game.

Stephen is far less committed to winning than Jerry. The son is about money only.
Yep. He's been mainly in charge since 2012. I'm sure Jerry has some say. But this new philosophy had to come from somewhere. When Jerry passes, this will continue.

LOL We’ll be known as the geriatric Cowboys. 70+ HC. 80+ GM. 80+ Owner. Keep Zimm as the DC since he’s almost 70 too. Maybe Schottenheimer can call his old man and see if he’s interested in returning too. :p

I’ll take Jimmy as the GM at 100.

Yup. My point in OP was the 3 dominant teams in ‘95 along with our Boys have still managed a ton of return appearances. We’re the only team that can’t figure it out without their 90’s Head Coach. Frustrating.

Just make sure you washed them.

I’ll be on the lookout for the flip flops I wore in ‘93. Saw that SB while living on the beach.
If you wash them it washes away the luck as well......keep em them 100........, skid marks and crabs be damned

Our only hope was Micah being a franchise savior but he's not the guy WHATSOEVER so........Def not this year unless we make some shocking trades.
2025 will start the March towards a new beginning

New Philosophy
New HC, OC and DC
No more bloated contracts for part time players.

It's rough being the only Optimist here.....but I will virtuosly carry forth.

A player and agent knows there's a salary cap thus a limited amount of money to go around for the team, this is not new information or a surprise to them. So how much money an owner has really is irrelevant.

I'm afraid Jerry will cave out of fear. Fear drives a lot of things in life and most of the time it shouldn't. Fear is why many on this board insist we must sign Dak to pretty much whatever he wants because fear is behind the logic that this team will be no good without him. It's not even that I'm arguing that they're wrong, it's that I can accept being bad to find a great QB versus not winning in the playoffs with Dak anyway. But fear will tell you we can't do that because we'll never find a great QB. May be true, may not, only one way to find out and regardless Dak is in his 30's he won't be around forever.

Anyone knowing anything about how the Dallas FO runs this team thinks a conference title is likely to be won anytime soon. Unfortunately, it's more about taking care of the brand than winning championship games. If it were, their fans would likely be far more optimistic.

A big fan myth.
If they make it to the NFFCG this season, this still will not go away.
Then it becomes 1 in 29 years. As some fans will see that as a negative to go on about. And not as a positive they made it there.

One is a poster from an actual 1987 movie. The other is not. You decide.

I'm going with this......I remember the teams in the 90s denying the 49ers 3 straight years and finally they put it together and got the monkey off their backs.
To me it comes down to Dak and the defensive front 7. I think they are solid everywhere else.
