Where would Dak go in the draft today?

Correct.

Could you imagine some team's fan base on what would happen if their GM passed on Prescott?

Man, it would be ugly.

Did you kick yourself when Brett Hundley threw 7 TDs in the preseason last year, had a 129 QB rating, and had the best pre-season by a rookie QB in over a decade?

Did you think to yourself "Man, how could the Cowboys be so stupid not to take him instead of Byron Jones"?

No you didn't.... because its preseason.

I just hope Dak has a chip on his shoulder for not being drafted higher and this chip on his shoulder benefits us greatly to the detriment of all other teams...

Yep. Perfect passer rating, 80% completion, 5 passing TDs, 2 rushing TDs, and no turnovers in his first two games ever but we decided to still go with Goff. I think fans would riot outside the team headquarters.

I just hope Dak stays grounded and continues to focus and work hard because one things I know as a fact is everyone who is signing your praise today will be the 1st to throw you under the bus if you mess up.

I think it's poppycock for the same reason last year's rookie QB Brett Hundley wouldn't have been the #1 pick overall in a 2015 re-draft despite his 129 QB rating and 7 TDs passing playing with mainly with the ones in Green Bay last pre-season while GB sat Aaron Rodgers most of the pre-season.

In many ways a very similar scenario as Dak. Both teams with top-end OLs and offensive skill players -- ultimately making pre-season a bit easier for a rookie QB.

I think Dak would have definitely been drafted higher -- maybe even in the 2nd round... however to think he would be redrafted #1 overall is just crazy.

Hundley did most of his damage week 4 and didn't start. I don't think it's fair to suggest he was as impressive as Dak.

4 of his TDs came week 4 against scrubs. Dak played against starters and still had better numbers over 3 weeks than Hundley did 4.

Not arguing that. I'm just saying the idea that somehow Dak moves up to #1 pick overall in the draft based on his preseason performance is not realistic.

Sure - I'd agree. But, your Hundley example falls flat, imo.

They have to be. Especially when so much of the appeal was that he was "pro-ready". I mean, if you draft Wentz and he struggles, no big deal. It's a big jump in competition and his value was in his upside. But Goff...ugh.

Just read on ESPN that Goff may start as the 3rd QB ... so definitely surprising and I'm sure the Rams are disappointed.

Then why use the analogy at all? Makes no sense if you agree that what he did doesn't compare to what Dak did.

I thought it was an interesting comparison in that Hundley turned in the best rookie QB preseason in over a decade until Dak came along.

I made the comparison because Hundley turned in the best rookie QB preseason in over a decade until Dak came along in 2016 and broke it.

I didn't go back a look at the specific circumstances of each pre-season game to see when Hundley played in those games.

Then if you didn't realize that Hundley did it against scrubs and Dak did it against the Rams, Dolphins and Seattles starters, I guess I understand the mistake.

Not that far fetched though if you think about it this way

1. Rams and Philly had decided to pick a QB

2. Goff has completely underwhelmed so Dak definitely gets taken before him

3. Wentz's main attributes were his leadership ability, intangibles and mobility and poise. I think Dak has shown all of those and more against NFL 1st stringers and he has been ACCURATE which is the most important characteristic

4. Dak was a top 2-3 QB prior to the 2015 season

Put those together in a redraft and Wentz, Lynch and Dak are the top 3 QBs and i think that Dak has shown the most by far

I think Dak goes in Rd 1 definitely and is likely one if the top 2 QBs taken

For the record, first overall might be a little high, even though it also might not be too.

If I had to guess I'd say somewhere in round 1 though.

I can't see every team passing on him.

Ask the Rams and the Eagles what they are willing to pay for the best QB in the draft.
