I was telling you in the other thread where Jerry stood. Jerry believes this team is a contender so to trade Gallup and weaken your strength makes no sense. That's what I was trying to get across.

Well, there are a coupla signs.

2. In Golston and Diggy, it appears we have finally acquired some big nasties up front. Been missing that since Rats. Of course, this time we won't play them out of position at NT and ruin their careers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which direction is this franchise headed? Like every year…it’s designed to head straight to the cash register. I just hope we can also do something we haven’t been able to in 25 years.

I suppose like CC says, we could get lucky. Beyond that we are #1 in Revenue. I really need to make some #1 in Revenue gear.

Don on the old site helped me create a graphic for it with Jethro looking into his mirror holding up his index finger in front of his mirror. On the back of T-shirt was fans holding up their middle finger . It is perfect. I should get them produced.

Why would I care what Jerry thinks, he's a bad GM? But I am glad you and Jerry talk together to discuss what he thinks.

If Jerry was smart he would be looking for a potential buyer to test the market. Even if he wants to test the waters the first half of the season on being a contender. If by midseason its obvious we arent a contender then at least you are prepared.

Me personally, its obvious we aren't a true contender. I would also be in discussions already on what it would take to resign Gallup. I would do that before the final year of EVERY promising young player before his rookie contract is up.

Ah so 14-3? I should have known. Lets hope you are right. If we can stay nearly 100% healthy that is the highest end of the spectrum for me. Defense would have to be top 10 in most categories for something like that.

Its not a "Jerry thing". Its a NFL thing. Every team at this point in the season believes they are a contender...now when you go into the season and get down 0-4 then that's when teams start to switch how they go about their season.

I also think you are overrating the trade market for a wide receiver in his contract year.

If Deandre Hopkins got traded for a 2nd and 4th...the best receiver in the game.....
If Julio got traded for a 2nd rounder.....

What do you think Gallup is worth? At that point you have to consider if even a comp pick is higher compensation then you'd get in a trade.

That is why it is so important for Jerry NOT to hire puppets but coaches he respects and feels the need to please. He will give them more power and let them get their way more. Jerry more than anyone needs a REAL HC.

I'm a homer man....its a homer prediction I won't even lie to you......

To get here I think they need to be a top 20 defense but be able to generate sacks and turnovers....if they can do that it can be achieved.....will they do that? That I don't know...they got the turnovers last year just couldn't get off the field when they needed to.
