Not really heading anywhere. Just a rudderless ship bobbing in the waves the last 25 years.

It is a Yacht not a ship. Get it straight now. :muttley:

Well they transferred to a Yacht, as the ship sank, when did he get that?
I think the wrong people fell overboard during the transfer though. Maybe they should make them walk the plank. :lmao:

I am not sure where it is heading. Every year I go into the season it is going up. That is just the way I am. Only to find out just treading water again.

But this year I am sticking to my fandom rights. Going into it with optimism as usual but with a more tempered enthusiasm. Because of the unknown defense and how long it will take to show something on the field.

Are we heading in the right direction in terms of increasing our odds to become Super Bowl champions or is this team headed more towards (or in the middle of) a rebuild?
I’m afraid. Until Jerry Jones stop micromanaging would definitely not headed in the right direction. We’re just headed in his direction

The hiring of Quinn could possibly influence me to believe he might ultimately get the nod over Kellen whom I assumed was waiting to become Jerry's Garrett part 2. Maybe just a little more coach in training time waiting behind Quinn could be in play.
Hafta see how Quinn's defense looks this year as I see McCheese as no more than a bridge coach to Moore or Quinn once goals are not met this year.

Bunch of BS for the most part, most of the pay check collectors have been 86d, and everyone relevant got payed, healthy and motivated...
Tom Brady should be concerned on opening night.

I still think that this year boils down to who have you beaten this season...

Dumping Garrett was a step in the right direction and so was acquiring Quinn as DC, along with this last draft.
Now if they'll just keep building this defense. I agree, the arrows are pointing up.
How long will it take to get even an average D?
If we are talking 2-3 years, it might happen just as the O is starting to lose a step.o_O

The franchise as been moving sideways for decades. Until they start winning consistently in January, that remains the direction.

Continuing to lead the Forbes list and TV ratings. The only two directions that matter.

Since the Cowboys first appeared on Hard Knocks, eleven teams have won at least one Super Bowl (including two from the NFC East). The Cowboys are the only NFC East team to appear on Hard Knocks, this will be their 3rd time, and they haven't even played in a conference title game. Meanwhile, the owner continues to refuse to replace the Director of Player Personnel and the General Manager, despite decades of ineptitude in those roles.

That suggests all anyone needs to know about the priorities of Jerry Jones, as you're noting here. Some fans refuse to see/acknowledge it, and will get mad when it is pointed out to them. After all, this is our year (again)! Just wait, you'll see!

Wash, rinse, and repeat.

While the Cowboys had previously been content to hold on to someone like Jason Garrett for longer than they probably should have, another failure to crack .500 given the team's contend-now payroll could cause the patience factor to evaporate.

  1. Regardless, the Cowboys have a cap reckoning coming. After two seasons without a playoff appearance, a third could spell disaster in Dallas.

For me it is not about Jaylon..it was about Crawford. Now he is gone..maybe Jaylon is next..he will be if our rookie LBers produce. Wolf Hunter must also improve hugely.

I read the article and think there's a CZ group that believe these contend now payroll cap hits will somehow produce success. I don't. They further believe in that success while waiting on drafting more defensive starters as the cap hits rise even further the next couple of years. This is a highly confused group.

This cap stuff kinda makes it a now or never type of year imo as I didn't realize the cap was so dire until it was spelled out like this article explains.

Back to that same ol' cap strapped Cowboy Way of bidness again.

And unfortunately with those same ol' results as well, lol.

They are that last lazy turd that won't flush down the drain. Circling the bowl of mediocrity, only to pop up again peddling a "clear eye view".
