i voted holmgrem because i had to make a choice but there are a couple of caveats:

holmgren, only if he is not the GM and has a good DC
cowher, only if he brings **** lebeau

otherwise, find a young, intense guy who wants to make a name for himself, this might be garrett (i dont know enough about him) or someone else

We should have tried to keep Sean Payton. If he was HC instead of Wade, we probably would have drafted Percy Harvin and he would have been that electric missing piece at WR to be a serious contender.

Yet when Payton was here people complained about him as well. :D

I voted with the assumption that this was if WP and the Cowboys flopped again since the question was specifically asked who we wanted to replace Wade.

I chose Cowher. But, honestly I could never see him accept the HC position here. I think he has too much disdain for the Cowboys to ever see that happen. In fact, I believe there is a better chance that Jimmy coaches here, again, before Cowher does. And that chance is pretty slim to none.

That is my fantasy pick.

Behind Cowher, Id have to pick Shanahan.

I'm leaning towards Garrett, providing that his offense is considered top tier at the end of the year.If Wade were to have some success in the post season, atleast enough to appease Jerry,I wouldn't mind him staying either.

Some of the things that I like about about Garrett is that he is young enough to keep around for awhile if he has success. He also is respected by Jerry and Stephen, that should relate to more leeway than an outsider would have in personell/staff decisions. If Jerry were to hire Garrett as Wades successor,he could bring in Holmgren as a consultant until Garrett gets his feet wet.

I have to say that I am shocked by the number of Bill Cowher votes.

Good teams take on the personality of there coach. I would love Gruden or the Chin to be our next headcoach.

The mancrushes on Bill Cowher are so perplexing to me. 2 Super Bowl appearances in 15 years as a coach.

**** LeBeau. The coordinator so fierce, you dare not even say his name.

A young, unknown hotshot along the lines of Tomlin or Rex Ryan. No warmed over, recycled, desperate-for-a-job candidates like Holmgren, Gruden, or Shanahan. In short, no "stars."

I wouldn't call Rex Ryan a young, unknown hotshot. It was almost shocking that he lasted so long as a coordinator. I really wished Jerry would have put the grudge against his dad aside back in '07 and interviewed him. I think he would have blown him away.
