Yeah, after I posted, I re-read the the thread and will admit that I misinterpreted it. But still, it's still implying the that Romo is the 5th best QB in the NFL and I think it's way too early in his career to start ranking him.

great - then tell us who you'd take over him. if 15-20 qb's, name 'em.

yes it's early to rate romo but it's also part of the fun - being able to *reasonably* rate our qb as one of the best in the league for a change vs. a "bus driver".

In that case, since do-able isn't an option, I want a 27 year old Brett Favre.

A straight up trade taking into account age, talent, injury history...

The thing is about Peyton Manning is he still sucked in the playoffs last year.

He did everything he could to lose in the playoffs and his teammates around him wouldnt let him do it this time.

Also him winning the Superbowl MVP was a joke as well. He owes Jim Nance for that one.

Manning is a great QB but I still dont want him on my team in the post season.

that's why i said "maybe peyton" (likely?) he's got "the name" and he's great at fantasy qb'ing, but like you i'm not 100% sold on him.

I would keep ROMO over all of them--he has the MOXIE

If CrazyCowboy agrees with me then I know I'm right. :D

Good point about the MOXIE too CC.

I'd trade Romo & Cleveland's First Rounder in 08 for Brady 'The Truth' Quinn
You're getting kinda silly with this.

Palmer and brees I would, Peyton and Brady are getting up there and like someone said "yeah they are better right now, but their aging" so no I think I would stay with Romo.

I may take a look at Bulger for Romo, but....

What about Phillip Rivers vs Romo?
Rivers still has a ways to go. He could be really good, but he looks rattled to me at times and doesn't seem to read the field like Romo does.

Also, his moxie readings aren't off the chart like Romo.

Carson Palmer. He's the next Troy Aikman. Who wouldn't want that?

A straight up trade taking into account age, talent, injury history... who would you really swap Romo for? I can only think of 4 sure fire guys I would want more than Tony- Palmer, Manning, Brady and Brees. That's it... am i being too much of a homer on this one?

I agree with your choices.

To quote Indiana Jones, it's not the years, it's the milage.

Even though they're the same age, Palmer has taken about 2,000 more snaps than Romo has, so I think Romo could give you 2 more good years than Palmer. Three more than Brees.

Remember, Rich Gannon was a year older than Aikman, But Gannon was in the Pro Bowl while Aikman was already in the broadcast booth.

Sorry, but Palmer ain't no Aikman.
Yeah Percy, didn't you know you can't even make a simple comparison of anyone to Aikman without implying said person indeed = Aikman;)...

I understand what you're saying Percy. But even though Aikman was done earlier than Gannon, if you came to me after Aikman's 5th season and asked who you would trade Gannon for, given all we know now, I still would have taken Aikman. I would trade a few less years for better play and results.

Palmer
Rivers
Bulger
Brees

Bulger being the relative old man in the group, but I like him.
River's potential is still in question, but he did QB the best team in the regular season last year.

I would trade Romo for E. Manning.

After some more thinking, I would trade Romo for Peyton Manning or Drew Brees.
