Which QBs would you rather have instead of Tony Romo?

Romo is a winner, (27-12 as a starter) just in case you missed it.
And of course, you could argue that he has more to do with that record than Ryan has to do with his.

4th Quarter Career QB rating:
Matt Ryan - 84.1
Tony Romo - 104.4

Again, good for a rookie. Not in the same league as Tony yet.

Did I really have to say post-season? And yes, Barry played for a winner or two. Even enjoyed some playoff victories.

I guess Sonny Jurgensen sucked.

Surely you're not referring to Matt Ryan when you say "proven winner" in reference to the post-season.

Or Peyton Manning, who took 6 full seasons before he won a playoff game.

Or Jay Cutler.

he threw a lot and because of that always ranked near the top of the list in throwing interceptions. he wasn't a winner.

I'm guessing he's referring to the new "gold standard" Tom Brady. If you ain't Brady you ain't squat.

Nobody "sucks." Far from it. I just find it amusing when some fans denigrate Sanders yet rush to coronate Tony, or declare him untradeable, based solely on "Barry like" regular season stats.

Hmm - hard to decide!
Need to ask the offensive line; their band needs another vocalist, and I am not sure which one might fit right in!
At least they could support a QB while in concert, even if they can't on the playing field.

Too green, but not unthinkable.

Irrelevant. The question is "would we trade Tony for him right now?"

Or Jay Cutler.

No, based on temperament/leadership issues.

I'm struggling to see how this at all pertains to this thread.

So, some Cowboys fans in the past might have argued against Barry Sanders. Uh...ok.

You're right. Being "too green" is quite the opposite of "proven winner."

Irrelevant. The question is "would we trade Tony for him right now?"
To which I reply "irrelevant" given that no one is arguing that Tony is better.

No, based on temperament/leadership issues.
Well, then I'm at a loss as to who you could possibly be referring to.

I'm guessing no one at all. It was just a throw away comment with no relevance to the thread whatsoever. Please correct me if I'm wrong, though.

romo has all the physical tools.

this is the year he has to prove to me he has the mental tools to be a sb qb.

with owens gone...he may just prove it.

i would take ryan and brees in a heartbeat though.

the real reason tony struggles so much is because of our offensive line's inconsistent play.

gurode's stupid *** snaps and flozell adams for instance.

You never heard of a simple analogy? Would you have preferred that I compared him to another QB? Archie Manning, perhaps? Until further notice, Tony is a Barry Sanders type--tastes great, but very little nutrition. Should he win a playoff game or two, he graduates to Danny White territory. After that, the sky is the limit.

"Funny how" suggests there's some sort of ironic connection. Obviously that's what you were going for, whether you care to admit it now or not.

I'd take Brady, Manning and Big Ben, possibly Brees and Rivers. Hopefully, Romo can move back up that ladder his season.

Who's playing the role of Emmit Smith in your analogy?

One win = proven winner? Says who? Not I. The only thing Tony has over him at this point is stats via a big head start. But yes, he could prove to be a flash in the pan.

To which I reply "irrelevant" given that no one is arguing that Tony is better.

So why did lots of people eliminate a "better" QB like Peyton from consideration? Age? Well, Tony is no spring chicken, and Dallas' window will not stay open indefinitely. Who's more likely to win a championship in the next two to three years: Peyton or Tony?

What the hell are you getting at? I gave you an honest answer on Cutler (one that favored Tony, btw), and all I get is bewildering snark.

Brady and Manning (Peyton)

that's it

And Romo is as good as any of the others without hesitation, remember what it takes to win the NFL..

22 men working "TOGETHER" as a team. Romo is the real deal, and he'll win his playoff games soon enough.

How many playoff games has Jim Kelly won, but that all important and most elusive game the Super Bowl.

If i'm Romo, I don't feel so bad about losing two playoff games.
Just say'in
