Nice....

Im sure if I googled u in your teens , you might be doing something comparable:eek:

That picture was from his final year at Notre Dame if I am correct.

I did lots of foolish things in college, but patting someone else's jewels, even in jest wasn't one of them.

The hell he does.

Three consecutive NFC championship games ended with him throwing the ball to the other team. His team had opportunities to win all three of these games as well.

A Super Bowl ended with him puking away one of Terrell Owens' only great post season performances.

Yet they keep rewarding him with more money.

Okay. I buy that one and I stand corrected.

He looks to young and too small for that to be his last year at ND. Doesnt look like 24 reps to me there. Has to be high school or frosh ND.

I agree with the patting of jewels. Kind of wack.

Hallelujah. You finally hopped up off your knees long enough to realize that it is a man law that male on male genitalia touching is never acceptable, even in the name of humor.

You must really love Brady Quinn.

Considering all the criticism Romo gets on the board, it's good, at least, that even most of his biggest detractors have him in the top 5-8 QBs in the league. The ones I don't have on ignore, or who have been quoted in the thread, at least.

Let's go ahead and declare Tony Romo the best active quarterback without an NFL playoff win. (Honorable mentions: Jay Cutler and Matt Ryan.)

Of course, that's kind of like being the prettiest girl without a prom date. But the list of quarterbacks I'd rather have under center for the 2009 season is pretty short.

Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger -- winners of six of the last eight Super Bowls -- form the elite group. Romo is somewhere on the second tier. I'd take Phillip Rivers, Kurt Warner and Donovan McNabb over him. And that's it, although a lot of New Yorkers would argue for Eli Manning. (UPDATE: Forgot about Drew Brees. I'm on the fence about him.)

Romo has a long way to go to live up to the lofty Cowboys quarterbacking standards set by Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman. But there are about 25 teams that would be thrilled to have him.

No Way to warner. If romo is running for his life and fumbling whenever touched, then warner would be worse. Brady, and P. Manning. If....IF Romo is playing his best at the time of the playoffs, I HOLD PAT.

In general, outside of a few lunatics, there aren't many who wouldn't rank him in that range, even with his warts. He doesn't have far to go to make a lot of new admirers in the next year or so either. Myself included.

Yah. That's evident from this thread.

I get pretty bent hearing people dog him for stupid things like his golf game or being a racist. He takes a lot of flak, but it's pretty clear that even his detractors really do recognize that he's a pretty dang good player.

It makes their points of view even harder for me to understand, frankly, but at least there's a healthy respect for the guy's ability out there. That's nice to know after living through the string of QBs that preceded Tony this last decade.

Who comes up with these topics ...this would be a tough question for me if I was a Cowboys fan. Well for several reasons ...

- professing a different QB over your franchise QB is almost bad juju,
voodoo, bad-mouthing Romo.

- depending on the replacement timeframe, changing Romo for _______QB means learning the plays, timing adjustments, and all of those huge things outside of the
playbook that you learn as a result of mistakes & successes.

- How you acquired the new QB over Romo ...trade, previous team release,
how much do you sacrifice to get the new improved player and will the
team rally around the new QB.

From this Eagles fan perspective, I'd like to have one of those big name QBs as a backup for McNabb (especially if my QB were to get injured - you never know).

Personally, I wouldn't want anyone "over" McNabb!

It depends on your personal standards and taste.

Some are simply thankful that he isn't Carter, Henson, Hutchinson or some other slob. But speaking for myself only, I'd prefer our franchise QB to significantly above the Craig Morton line of demarcation and pushing Danny White and Don Meredith for that spot on our Cowboy Mount Rushmore. A playoff win or two, Romo has that spot secured without much question. I don't even expect a Super Bowl.

Tony I like, warts and all. His insane booster club? Not so much. That's where the backlash comes from.

I watched border-line ******** Eli Manning hold one of those things up, coached by a guy everyone wanted to fire a few months before.

Never say never.

I'm definitely in the former group. As long as the guy's as good has he's already demonstrated himself to be, and as long as he's committed to getting better and to working on the flaws that everyone agree need attention, I don't really know what more fans could ask for.

I'm sure Romo's goals are at least in line with your own, Alexander, and probably a lot higher.

That's disingenuous, bbgun. The Tony Romo debate is not a chicken and egg phenomenon, and you know it. The insane booster club got together because we all agreed it was insane this player needs a booster club. The 'backlash' wasn't backlash at all, it was 'frontlash' because a bunch of fans didn't get their expectations met and can't separate what needs to happen on the field--or even what parts of Romo's game require real attention--from what they want and expect to see in a football hero.

However you want to look at it, there's something intellectually inconsistent about railing constantly on a player (golf game, girlfriend, racism, physical conditioning, trying to be Tom Brady) that the entire board generally agrees is one of the 5 or 6 best players at his position in the entire league.

Just pointing out facts...

In the name of humor though, dont be jealous that your Kevin Durant reps are not comparable.

I'm not going to get in a d measuring contest with you. But I know for a fact I'm stronger than Kevin Durant. He couldn't rep 185 once. Hos can probably still do that.

He is a top 10 QB.... but not Canton Bound like 50% of this board who swear that he needs a couple more good years. Are "good years" judged by Stats, Playoff wins or hell even playoff appearances?!?!?!

If they are judged by stats then, its Superbowl Bound in 2009!! Oh wait.. we let our leading WR go to give Romo some nads in the huddle. Nevermind.
