Defense....if this defense gets better again, the chances look better.

It's hilarious you think he sucks so bad, when we were the #1 offense last year. Even if you take out the last game or two, he was still a damn good play caller, overall.

He's so terrible, he'll likely be getting HC offers after this year, along with Quinn. Moore understands the limitations of the offense. It's easy to be an armchair OC. But anyone who can have his level of success as an OC in the NFL is doing something correct.

I was thinking it was probably the clapper.
It's not him that's good. It's the players. He's our handicap, just like Garrett was. If he's so good then why do a lot of posters on here screaming for Pollard to be used more? Especially in the slot? Why do receivers leave then talk bad about Dallas' offense? We barely see rub routes. We barely see jet sweeps. We barely see pitch plays. We rarely see corner routes. We rarely see misdirection run plays. No lead draws, rarely runs draws period. Rarely calls play action deep shots. Rarely calls play action period. And what about our redzone problems? The players have to overcome his play calling.

Pollard is just rotting to death in this offense, who's fault is that?

I honestly believe they can do it but not until 2-3, maybe four players take their games to the next level, and yes that includes Dak. By that, I mean every season has 3-4 challenging defining games that build confidence for the postseason. In other words, win games you're NOT supposed to win.
:hammer:Bottom line, beat the good teams!

Well, I hope we get there soon, cuz, as a young fan, I'm starting to lose hope in this team and am wondering if I'm wasting my time rooting for the Cowboys.

Well, I guess it depends on what you call success. To me, if we win 11 or more games in a season I call that a successful year. "Not AS" successful as a SB appearance of course, but more successful than the 8-8 Garrett was known for.
Of course 50/50 isn't possible anymore with a 17 game schedule, but 50/50 for any team on the old 16 game schedule stunk IMO.
Nevertheless, you have to play some pretty decent ball to win 11 games or better. 11 wins are not a failure in my book, just not as fun as a SB.

I agree, but I haven't even seen us in an NFC Championship.

K. Moore's mentor was Jason Garrett, which shows in his play calling, and I was very glad to see Jason Garrett FINALLY go bye bye. Hope it doesn't take as many years for K. Moore to move on as it took to get rid of Garrett. JMO.

…..unless this team gets the benefit of another fortuitous “Herschel Walker” type trade, you may be waiting a long long time

Jimmy was a fine coach but the Walker Miracle had quite a bit to do with that great 90s team.

I hope your wait will be very brief.

He was only his "mentor" because he was the coach when he arrived as a player.

Moore's play-calling ability, and creativeness, comes from his days at Boise.

He wasn't blessed with NFL QB athleticism. Yet when he started a game for us, he threw for over 400 yards.

Tell me that was his physical talent, or was it intelligence?

Most people in the know about this topic will say that Moore influenced Garrett more than Garrett influenced Moore.

That's all it takes. He did what his coach told him, week after week after week, and he's still doing it. He's Garrett the 2nd.
If he grows out of that and does better, great. But till he does, he looks like Garrett the 2nd.

I definitely need to see more, but I'm always open minded when it comes to my team.. I'd feel much better if could see signs that the Run game will be better and more consistent.

Exactly, and the big picture is that we looked better than we have in a long time. When's the last time our defence was reliable? It was last season.

Yep, but the answer to the OP is 'No' we're going to win a SB in 2022, however, we arent necessarily focusing on 2022....if we did we wouldnt have held back $22.5m CAP.

This year's a benchmark year where we expect those still on Rookie Deals to step up (or ship out). Too many question marks to focus on the needs.

If we have a number of NFL regulars out of the above 2023 will be the year as we can start the next cycle of contract signing.

If the question is, “Do you want the Cowboys to win a Super Bowl?” Yes absolutely.
If the question is, “Do you believe the Cowboys will win the SB this year?” No I do not.

I want a SB win. Badly. But the last nearly three decades with this ego-maniacal, unaccountable owner has made me adopt the philosophy “I will believe it when it happens”.
Exactly, one can have realistic thoughts about the team and not be called a “hater.” That’s nonsensical.

If the Cowboys are playing well in November/December they will have a chance. Cincinnati and Tampa came on in the last two years by finishing strong in November/December. I will be a believer if the Cowboys can go 2-2 against Cincinnati, Rams, Tampa, and the Packers. With the rest of the schedule there is no reason why the Cowboys can’t be 10-3.
