Who should we root for Sunday GreenBay or Philly?

We won a wild card game in 2009 and 1996

The Cowboys were division champs in 96 and 2009 hoisting a wildcard team. I'm talking about them winning a playoff game as a "wildcard team" and the last time they did that was on the road in Chicago during the 91 season.

You're right. We probably aren't winning a playoff game at Lambeau. In fact, I am not sure if anyone else in the NFC can this year. That's why I want Detroit winning that division.

All 3 of the Packers losses have come on the road this season and they were pretty decisive losses but 3 of their 6 home wins have been complete blowouts. The Packers are a different team on the road than they've been at home so they will have a big advantage playing at home in the playoffs if this trend continues. The Packers have been so impressive at home that if Philly goes into Lambeau and knocks them off on Sunday the momentum they'll be riding will be hard to slow down. The Cowboy fans that are hoping Philly beats Green Bay better rethink things because if Philly gets any hotter than they are right now the Cowboys are going to end up running into a buzz saw when they face them on Thanksgiving. It's very important that the Cowboys come back sharp from their bye week and beat the Giants or they'll be in big trouble if they're facing a 9-2 Philly team that just dusted off Green Bay and Seattle in a 3 week period.

There's very little doubt in my mind based off what I've seen from the Cowboys and Philly the past 3 weeks that the Cowboys better get back to the level of play we saw during their 6 game winning streak or they're going to get swept by Philly. The best chance the Cowboys have to make the playoffs is for Philly to drop games to Green Bay and Seattle bringing them and Sanchez back to earth giving the Cowboys a real opportunity to knock them off on Thanksgiving. If the Cowboys can win on Thanksgiving the momentum will be on their side and they're going to need it heading into Chicago to face 2 receivers that torched them last season and to face what will surely be a very hostile Philly crowd in week 15.

Week 16 won't be a piece of cake either with the Colts and Andrew Luck coming to town so the Cowboys better be focused and ready to get back to the play we saw from them during their winning streak. For this Cowboys team to be truly different from the 3 past Cowboy teams we've seen they can't allow what we saw the first 7 weeks of the season to be the best football we see from them the rest of the year. The trend with the Cowboys has been to fade once Dec arrives and they can't allow that to happen with the crunch games approaching. We'll find out in the next 4 weeks if this Cowboys team is a contender or a pretender.

Plain and Simple, GB lose and the eagles win the division because it will mean

1. We would have to beat them twice

2. Have to hope they lose to Titans, Skins, Giants, and Seahawks

Too much that has to happen

That's not what you said though. It was still a wild card game. Especially considering that under the current playoff format all wild card games will involve a division winner.

That is what I said you misunderstood me.The other poster got it either you haven't been following my discussion or I just didn't make it clear enough for you in the post you quoted me on. Some here think the Cowboys best chance of making the playoffs is as a wildcard team. I pointed out there's only been 3 seasons in team history where the Cowboys advanced in the playoffs as a "wildcard team." I wasn't referring to them winning a "wildcard game" as a division winner.

Your sentence wasn't clear at all then. It led you to make a factual error due to that lack of clarity. It happens.

There was no factual error on my part you simply misunderstood what I said. The post you quoted was a follow up to a more detailed post. Had you read the first post there would have been no misunderstanding. You're the only one who didn't understand what I said. You were corrected by another poster who told you what I meant so it wasn't me who made the error. There's no point turning this into an argument. You're now clear on what I was talking about so let's move on.

No brainer. GB.

My hate runs deep with the eagles.

Goes back to the 'Bounty Bowl' with the original spawn of Satan in the Ryan gene pool.

Continued on with underachieving, one-eyed, jack hole, sheep chasing, women beating coward fan base.

There should be a commandment punishing those who dare to be born an eagles fan right after "Thou Shall Not Kill".

Other than that....I hope it's a good game. ;)

My hatred for the Beagles goes back to the day when Irvin got hurt at Veterans Stadium and the partisan Beagles fans cheered.

You can guess who I'm cheering for tomorrow.

GO PACK GO!!!!

Eagles lose. The division should be the priority. Worry about homefield after that.

As far as the Lions/Cardinals, root for the Lions to lose. We have almost zero chance of catching the Cardinals. They'd have to lose 3 of their last 7 and we'd have to go undefeated to overtake them since they have the head-to-head on us.

Besides, University of Phoenix Stadium is like a home game for the Cowboys, Also, it's 30 minutes from my house so that works too.

Philly with Sanchez will definitely experience some decline. Sanchez is not really a good QB. Dallas has a shot to claim the division in the next few weeks. So a Green Bay victory will help Dallas more imho.

I've weighed all of the options and surprisingly enough I'm going to root against the Eagles. Hope they lose big. :)
