If this team takes care of it's own business, it doesn't matter...
Very possible Dallas can get a first week bye if they win the division. Then Philly may have to go on the road as a wildcard. Maybe to Seattle, N.O. Arizona, San Fran
The calculations I've seen on this (from 538) say that it's a 2.5 point swing resulting from the outcome of the GB-PHI game. To me, that's in the noise, easily swamped by the uncertainty in things like the delta between Foles and Sanchez. I'll be rooting for the Packers because the slight decrease in overall playoff odds is more than compensated for by the greater rewards of winning the division. Do other sources suggest a greater impact of this game?
If you're looking for the Cowboys to not only make the playoffs but have success in them then they need to win the division because the team has only had 3 seasons in their history where they advanced as a wildcard. The last time the Cowboys won a wildcard game was on the road in Chicago during the 91 season with Steve Beuerlein at QB.
Past seasons have no bearing on the present. WC teams advance every post season. The only thing that matters for now is just making the playoffs.
Past seasons can affect the present. Once something becomes a trend it can be difficult to stop it. The Cowboys have had issues the past 3 seasons of getting over the 8-8 hump and have lost their last 4 season finale elimination games dating back to 08. The Cowboys have had issues winning games in Dec the past several years and it's carried over from one season to the next. The team is 4-9 in Dec the last 3 seasons which include 3 straight season finale elimination game losses. The Cowboys history says their best opportunity to advance in the playoffs is to win their division.
If they end up a wildcard they may have to face the Packers at Lambeau where they've never won a game in their history. The Cowboys have never beaten the Packers in Green Bay in a playoff game. A teams past can affect their psyche if brought to their attention enough. There's a reason teams like the Cowboys were 3-0 in SB's during the 90's and the Bills were 0-4. Their past SB performances had a bearing on their future SB performances in my opinion.
I think that's all hogwash but to each his own opinion. You are most certainly welcome to yours.

I agree with your point, but we did beat the Packers in Lambeau in 2008.
Correct the Cowboys beat the Packers at Lambeau in week 3 of the 08 regular season but I was referring to the playoffs. The weather is a lot different in Green Bay in Jan than it is in Sept and the crowd is a lot more amped up for a playoff game than a regular season game.

We won a wild card game in 2009 and 1996
