Hurd, i don't think it can be felix jones, because he said he expects several receivers to step up. Felix is not a receiver. Good guess though

But Hurd is the guy that everyone has been talking about including Romo, Austin has the measurable, and everyone admits that he has the skills to be a good WR, but Hurd has that knack for making the plays. Watch him this year, he will surprise alot of Austin/Danny fans.

They do use Felix as a wr in the slot in packages so its not out of the question.

Somewhere, Romo and Galloway are looking at this thread and snickering.

There's been a buzz on Hurd even before camp started, and by most accounts he's had a really good camp. CBs have mentioned him in clips, TO talks about how hard he works, and Romo's come out and said he's an NFL WR. He's who I expect to really over deliver this year.

As for Romo's comment, I think you're right that it's probably Felix Jones, since moving him into a couple of different WR positions and he fits the bill as 'unexpected.'

I think it's Felix Jones. I have a feeling we might be seeing him in a three WR set or even some type of misdirection like an "I right" formation with Felix motioning left then taking a shuttle pass right with Witten and Barber lead blocking. If excuted properly Witten and Barber could pickup the safety and OLB and could leave quite a bit of open field for Felix.

Damn, that gets me exicted! :laugh2:

Todd Lowber.

He looked like he had a good grasp on the offense on Hard Knocks.

Can't decide if I should mock you, or praise you for a dry joke. To be safe, I'm going to mock.

You would thin Stanback, but lining Felix Jones up in the slot would give Tashard Choice more room in the backfield!!

I'll guess Stanback as well. He's unexpected because he's a converted QB project that didn't even see the field last year, let alone be able to move up the depth charts when Hurd and Austin have shown improvement this year.

The way Sam Hurd and Miles Austin work in TC, I believe one of them will emerge as a good wideout.

Someone could email Galloway and see if he would tell you.

Have not emailed him in over a year, but at one time he would always answer my emails and I just took it he was like that for most people.

Whether he would give you the name or not is another story.:D

Then again I could be confusing Galloway for Hansen.:laugh2:

Considering the two of them and their personalities, I would say Galloway would be more likely to answer someone's email. Hansen would be more likely to sort it right into the trash.

He's likely talking about Hurd or Austin - you'd have to be on crack to think either Stanback or Amendola are going to come in and make huge contributions.
My guess is that he's on about Hurd as his extra weight is going to be a real help.

Dude, you flat out bellow. Well beyond opinion or prediction.

And where did HUGE come into play here? Did he say huge? Did Galloway say huge?

Please continue to embellish .....................someday you may start believing youself.

Galloway promised Romo he wouldn't. He discussed this on the radio the other day also.

...here is the excerpt from Randy Galloway's article yesterday on Romo...

Lack of proven depth at receiver.

Romo: "I read that and I think you guys have that all wrong. There will be some things happen at receiver this season you guys are not expecting. These young receivers will emerge. Several of them, in fact.

(Does one of them stand out?) Yes, and I will tell you his name, but don’t print it. Just watch and see if I’m right."

So who is Romo talking about?

I actually don't think he's talking about Hurd, Austin or the other wide receivers. I think he might be talking about Felix Jones. We've been reading a lot about him in the slot and how well he is catching the ball.

Agree? Disagree?

Gotta be Austin. He has the speed they think they need to stretch the filed opposite Owens. For sure, I look for Owens to have a good year, but not as good as last year because I think there will be more options. I think Austin will provide the deep threat that was lacking last year, and I think Felix Jones will get 3 - 5 tosses a game.
