Not sure who said it earlier, but you are correct. We can't help stupid.sort a like dak.

Glad that I read everything before posting, because I was about to say the EXACT same thing. Will not happen.
Dak will not see any PS games playing time to get out played.
It is more like Trey will need to out play Cooper for game day back up vs. inactive emergency QB.
Which he should do.
I am sure Trey remained the emergency QB all year long because Jerry and McCarthy wanted to hold Trey Lance back. They traded for him specifically, to not give him a chance to play. Just like the Niners did. The coaches don't evaluate players any more. They just wanted to have a number 3 overall pick be there emergency QB because it sounds pretty cool. There's a few that will still demand that Dak is one of the greatest QB's in existence, as foolish as that idea is. They will refuse to acknowledge the facts.
Many of us said it would be mistake to get rid of Amari. Certain Dak fans cheered his departure then whined that Dak doesn't have any weapons (Even though he has plenty). Every excuse on Earth is made for Choke Prescott. So no, some will not turn on him no matter what. He's a god to them.
Now speaking to the premise of this thread: It's highly unlikely. Even in the unlikely event that Lance lights it up in training camp and preseason, Jerry loves him some Dak and will keep him as the starter despite dooming the post-season.
Trey Lance could not light it up in HS.Trey Lance lights it up in OTAs and pre-season. Outplays Dak and takes the starting job. Gets us to the NFCCG.
Who would be happy and who would be upset?
I'm sure a bunch of Dak fans will say its not possible, that's not the question,
Who would be happy and who would be upset?
What if Dak goes down with an injury for a prolonged period and Lance lights it up. Would the regime have the courage to stay with Lance or go back with Dak?It’s never going to happen, so it’s silly to even play along. Lance will be competing for the backup job with Cooper Rush, not the starting job. The Cowboys will be extending Dak to avoid a major cap hit, so it won’t matter how good Lance looks in OTA’s and preseason.
What if you did not believe in hypothetical miracles? What if Dak goes down with an injury for a prolonged period and Lance lights it up. Would the regime have the courage to stay with Lance or go back with Dak?
I said what i said and meant it. You can keep spinning it how you want.
Have a great day!
Feelings.I would absolutely love it for I don't feel that the Cowboys can win in January with Dak Prescott,
If you're willfully missing the obvious truth, then yes it makes no senseThat makes zero sense.
An extension has nothing do with their current contract. We did not extend Lance. We are stuck with Lance contract(due to Jerry's gambling addiction) and Dak contract for the next year.If you're willfully missing the obvious truth, then yes it makes no sense
They proved in 2016 when Romo went down they will stay with the hot hand no matter what. The problem they would face this time around is Dak would already be extended so after the season, regardless how far Lance were to take the Cowboys they would attempt to trade him. It would be similar to what happened in Philly in 2017. They had just re-signed Wentz but he was injured and Foles took over and lit it up in the playoffs and SB leading Philly to a championship. They ended up trading Foles. On the other hand Bledsoe had just signed the richest QB contract in NFL history with NE and after he got injured and Brady led the Pats to a championship, they traded Bledsoe. The problem with the Cowboys situation is Dak would have to agree to a trade because he has a no trade clause and a team would have to be willing to take on his contract. There could be stipulations that could cause an issue. The Cowboys might have to give up a draft pick, similar to what the Rams did to get Detroit to take on Goff’s contract. It could be complicated. What if Dak goes down with an injury for a prolonged period and Lance lights it up. Would the regime have the courage to stay with Lance or go back with Dak?

Has nothing to do with a decision to extend either one of them.
Happy but it won't matter,we got preschoke, the leader of men and as long as he is here, this team will never bring in someone to truly compete with him, can't hurt his fragile feelings.
That has nothing to do with Trey Lances current contract. With Dak it absolutely does
To not extend Dak would be tantamount to Jerry acknowledging the mistake that was his first big deal
Jerry won't do that. Because he's an egomaniac who can't admit he was wrong
And an alcoholic on top of that
What are you even talking about.Trey Lance lights it up in OTAs and pre-season. Outplays Dak and takes the starting job. Gets us to the NFCCG.

I agreeThat has nothing to do with Trey Lances current contract.
