Why are people acting like getting Lee back is a "bonus"?

I don't really understand. He hasn't played a complete season since at least his sophomore year in college, maybe longer. I keep reading in threads and twitter posts how great it will be to see him on the field, like he is some sleeper player. At this point, it's time to call a spade a spade and realize he just isn't going to be on the field late in the season. I hate to write him off, but without some serious depth at the linebacker position, it is hard to just pencil him in and say we're good to go.

I have already stated this before, Ro is not any different. The best player to keep was Carter. Could have got him for the same price as Blinkly and Agnew. Probably cheaper than what he sign for at TB.

There is something there we aren't seeing on the field...completely at least. I still think someone(s) didn't trust the guy. You don't get pulled that often for mucking up.

Lee should be a lesson for all youth, don't over-build your frame, things break down.

Did he have a clean up/shave the ligament or did they just read the MR and leave it alone?

Dunno.

I had just read a couple short articles about the prior injury and him not having surgery when it occurred in college. I think someone else provided a link to one of the articles.

Good question though!

Not worth arguing with someone who knows absolutely nothing.....just keep hating on Lee

Well, I know Lee got hurt and keeps on getting hurt, which is what this discussion is about and why people doubt him.

Besides, labeling someone a "hater" is a simple-minded person's way of avoiding the issue at hand and why people aren't confident in Lee.

You can hate on me all you want or call me any name you'd like. But the fact remains that Lee has not played a full season while he's been a Cowboy. He has given fans no reason to believe that he can remain healthy.

Dems da facts.

Thomas Davis has had a very successful career coming back from multiple knee injuries/surgeries.

Getting Sean back is a bonus as he is a fantastic playmaker.

Honestly, I don't get this discussion at all. We are paying Lee, regardless of if he is on the field or not. He is the best LB we have when he's healthy. I understand he has issues with actually staying healthy but we know that. It does us no good to just sit him. He's paid for. I don't get it.

If he comes back and remains healthy, great. But I have to see it first.

Exactly! Which is why anything out of him is a bonus! Anyone who uses a torn acl as being injury proned is clueless in my book! Now go on and keep hating

I thought you weren't going to waste your time?

And what part of "Lee hasn't played a full season since being in the league" did you NOT get?

My assessment isn't solely based on the ACL. It is the ACL in combination with his other injuries and inability to stay healthy for a full season.

I'll refrain from insulting you. It's St. Patrick's Day, and I'm trying to turn over a new clover. :D

that is not the question at hand- the question is should we EXPECT a full season from Lee and I would say that so far we cannot.

Why is that the question? I mean, he either will be or he won't be healthy the entire season. Doesn't mean you don't play him. This is one of those "It is what it is" deals. For better or for worse. Hopefully it's for better but I think it just doesn't matter. Play him for as long as he's able to go.

However, I do agree with you. We should not expect Lee to be healthy the entire season. Fortunately, we have Hitchens who can play any of the LB positions so we have some flexibility there.

The problem with Carter is that he was behind Lee and Hitchens on the depth chart and the 3rd LB only plays about 50% of the snaps. In weeks 12 though 16 Hitchens started and Carter didn't.
