You mean other than a decade of not being able to win the division once?

stasheroo;5022754 said:Simple answer, what did they ever win while they were in cap hell?
stasheroo;5022742 said:When did back to back 8-8 seasons become 'performing at a high level'?
I think the original poster is spot on.
This team is in cap hell now and for the forseeable future for fear of not keeping together a bunch of players who've gotten them to 6-10, 8-8, and 8-8.
It will never happen, but I think they might just be better off long term trading away both Romo and Spencer and putting all resources into rebuilding.
ShiningStar;5022757 said:that can be said of cap friendly teams as well. point to me directly where the cap hell stopped them from guaranteeing that they would win it all?
stasheroo;5022765 said:They didn't win, for over a decade. What more evidence do you need?
dwight;5021646 said:Why are you surprise? This is Jerry at his finest. This occurred when Aikman, Irvin, and Emmitt were getting old. The only thing that saved the Cowboys was Bill Parcells.
It's not being negative it's reality.
jjktkk;5022762 said:Other than whining to complain about the team as a whole, when did Romo, Witten, and Ware become JAGS?
stasheroo;5022770 said:I never said they were. They're quality players. Quality players reching the points in their careers when their cost is greater than their contributions. Happens to every great player,
But they've had their chances together and this team has failed to win the big one.
Rather than continuing to invest current and future cap space chasing with this group while being hamstrung from adding any quality players (subtracting in fact), it may be time to trade away players for picks and cap space for the future.
I think between Spencer and Romo, you could obtain a plethora of quality draft picks, to say nothing of close to $25 million in cap space for this year.
ShiningStar;5022768 said:bad coaching, bad players, inept standards. I can show evidence at a lot of other places, but not directly at cap hell. Sorry on this one you are wrong.
stasheroo;5022756 said:I'd explain my position further if you were interested?
Unless you'd just like to stick to the snarky smilies?
stasheroo;5022774 said:The facts support my position.
While in cap hell, they didn't win.
Beyond that, you can believe whatever else you would like to believe.
ShiningStar;5022773 said:i dont think eitehr would bring in a plethora. I dont see many teams wanting Romo at his age and if they have chosen to rebuild and I think at best Spencer we could trade firsts.

I think Buffalo or Arizona would be all over him.
And I think you could get at least a 2nd rounder for Spencer, even if it meant trading him to the Eagles.

The Skins have been in cap hell for awhile now.ShiningStar;5022746 said:how did the "cap hell" really hurt the Skins?
5Stars;5022775 said:Dude! If you think things are bad now, just get rid of Romo and see what the future looks like! You want to go through another year after year after year trying to build a team without a good QB?
Romo is going to be gone when his time is up, and his time is not up, yet.
But, if we do get rid of him and build a damn good team, guess what? We have a Quincy Cater trying to run the show.
