Why are we still in salary cap hell?

Which probably means there's even less reason to overpay to keep Leary than if we didn't already have three All-Pros.

Especially when you have another potential All-Pro taking his place, a guy who was debatably the best lineman in that entire draft.

Romo will have some dead money charges through 2019. Nothing like the 19M or whatever now, but it is not like we can clear the red out at the end of 2017.

Not if he is released or traded he won't. It all accelerates; all $19.6m of it.

I don't think that's correct unless he's a June 1 cut and even then it's only through 2018.

That is fair. It's different shoulders but yes I agree that it is a concern.

That is why I recommend one more year. If he is hurt again then so be it and release him. I would just hate to see him get healthy somewhere else and realize his potential outside of Dallas.
Same here. I've dealt with the rotator cuff thing before so maybe I'm more inclined to understand his struggle to actually match his salary, of course it's not that big of a difference. Given the fact replacing him and the money you don't save is yet another hole to try to fill, I wouldn't see a point in doing anything right now anyways.

When Adam tells me something about the cap, I'll listen. But not somebody who makes up numbers and tries to pass them off as facts.
Blissfully ignorant you shall stay

Let me ask you this .......how many regular season games did Leary play in for DAL since he was signed in 2012???.........They played a total of 80 FYI

Not those dumb enough to try to proper up Doug Free, no. Please note that.

With all due respect, I'll need to see an exact quote supporting that claim. One that references paying Ron Leary like we're specifically talking about.

I wouldn't consider an omission as proof of anything.

For you maybe. People can claim whatever they want to, it sure doesn't make it so. People can claim the Cowboys can sign anyone they want, and then when they don't, they simply chalk it up and say they "didn't want to". Whatever helps them sleep at night.

It sounds like you just want to bury your head in the sand and pretend that whatever you think is true and infallible. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks or proves -- including everyone in the NFL who disagrees with you.

Who's got three Pro Bowlers and a fourth as good as Leary?

That's irrelevant to the point that I made.

It doesn't justify the lie you tried to tell about him missing 32 games. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it.

Quite the opposite. But I don't blindly accept anything that a person says just because they happen to currently have a job in the business either. There have been plenty of people who do who had no clue as to what they were doing.

Conversely, would you care to try to make the case that these people are infallible and never make mistakes?

I mean, if you're accusing me of disregarding everything they "think or prove" then you must agree with all of it yourself, based on the same degree of absolutes you want to hold me to, right? Or is it just you that's allowed to have his own objective opinion?

It's completely relevant. The point being that they're in a unique situation. As I stated and you tried to refute.

32 is a lie. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it. You've now outed yourself as a liar.

you deflect by calling me names.......

I look "stupid", and I'm "called no you names"? Wow! Not only a liar, but a delusional liar to boot.

There is no "everybody else". You're completely alone. Nobody is taking up for you on this, and nobody is signing off on your lies.

Leary never missed 32 games. The lie isn't true no matter how many times you type it. But I'll keep calling you on being a liar as long as you keep trying to spread lies as truth. Keep bringing it up and I'll keep calling you on it.

Here's the truth for anyone following along:

And even the 12 games not listed in 2015 and 2016 weren't because he was unavailable, but because he was inactive. Like his first season spent on the practice squad.

The man has missed about 5 games in his NFL career.

But you keep on with the lies, hopefully they'll earn you a timeout. If telling outright lies isn't a violation of forum rules, it should be.

Cowboy never want, or need, to be under the cap because Jerry doesn't care and the team is insanely profitable.

A lot of the teams you see carrying large caps over year to year are in smaller markets. The money they save on the cap let's the team exist in such a small market. If they were up against the cap every year, the team would go bankrupt.

huh? They're required by the CBA to spend 95%.

I knew this thread looked funny. I just realized that you're dealing with 1 of 2 people that I have on ignore.

I know exactly what I'm saying. Unlike you, I'm telling the truth, not lying about him and counting being inactive as "missed games". I know exactly what you tried to do, I'm just not about to let you get away with misrepresenting the truth.

Lol.......I should join you but my list is starting to get too long

Please do. If you can't handle someone setting the record straight, it's best for everyone. Just stick to your own Fantasyland of lies and never-ending cap space and spending that never happens.

In fairness to stash, Leary was on the practice squad in 2012 and that did not count towards NFL service time.

Missed is a relative term. It's not like he was injured which would be the point.
