Why are we taking so much risk on our roster when we are supposed to be contending in the NFC

I'm fine with the roster as is, but they'll be veteran guys available in FA if the Cowboys need some help in an area like last season with T.Y. Hilton.

At kicker we have a totally unproven guy that even if he turns out good will at best be as Gould last year and at worst kills our season?
At runningback we are putting all our faith that Pollard stays healthy and if he gets hurt then what we have no proven backs behind him?
At oline we have 5 good starters but any injury and it will immediately fall apart?

We have 18 million dollars in cap money? Make one year deals? There is legitimately no excuse to take so many risks on what should be a contending team. To me it feels like they want to be competitive but don't want to take the necessary steps to actually push us over the top.

Just want to mention that the Browns drafted a kicker who not only sucked last year but as been downright awful this entire pre-season.....

So clearly ya know, kickers aren't easy to find.

Thanks for proving my point. GET A PROVEN VET.

Who would you sign at

Kicker?
Offense Line?
Running Back?

Specifically what players available would you sign?

Kicker - Sumyunguy
Oline - Peters
RB - Hunt.

BUT I need to know $$$

Maybe were always going to go for it!

1) Extensions for existing talent
2) More depth can be added after cuts are made (slim pickings currently)

I said some of you act like there’s plenty of great kickers out there. I wasn’t even referring to you. You responded to a comment I made to no one in particular. If there’s no better solution at kicker out there than there was no mismanagement by the Cowboys. What I was doing was simply pointing out that your statement that we mismanaged the situation was wrong. There’s really no point in continuing this.
Fine. But I will ALWAYS feel that when people say "some of you" when replying to me....

refers to me.

If you don't mean me when you say "you" ...maybe a better way to say it is "some people". And we could avoid this kind of nonsense.

We can be done here....we have settled it that we just disagree on the matter. *If* there is a problem at kicker...it dang well is mismanagement. We've had 8 months to address the position. No trades, no drafts.

We shall see. Hoping for the best...some luck...a powerful offense that doesn't need to rely on kicker too much.

Seriously, what is wrong with the kicker that they have?
In my reply you quoted...you SHOULD have noted that I said "not sure if it is or isn't" (a problem).

I never said there's any serious issue. I said I have some concern. We'll see how it goes...gonna cheer 'em on.

The comment you replied to that started this discussion was directed at no one in particular. I simply made a comment and you were the only one who took offense to it and replied. I said “some of you” again because you replied. We’ll agree to disagree and move on. If you want to keep going that’s up to you, but I’m done with this.

We're not talking big dollars to get a decent #2 RB and a kicker.

And we could fix our game day oline depth problem with a phone call to Peters. He was a *good* olineman at every position he played last year. Maybe they've had a handshake deal on that all along. Hope so.

They don't need a running back and they don't need a kicker today. They don't want Peters.
