Dak will be resigned because he's a top five qb in the league and you'd be stupid to let that go to frolic in the qb unknown knowing you can't pick a better, or even equivalent quarterback at will.

You can hate all you want on Dak but it has nothing to do with quarterback play. If he'd played the position like those that hate have claimed he has, he would have been gone a long time ago.
Dak a top 5 ??

if you mean top 5 in being a choker. Bingo !

“ never” is only an opinion. Much like 25% is. Nobody has a crystal ball.

I get the frustration . And it’s validated. But the bigger priority for ownership , which fans thoughts don’t always align with, is remaining relative playoff caliber team. You can’t choke in the playoffs if you don’t get there.
Could be. But nothing he had done in the month has changed it.

Not yet.

While id agree it doesn’t look as hopeful doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Just not as likely.

But in a one game elimination anything can happen. The best team doesn’t always win.

No one is ok with that . But can’t choke in the playoffs if don’t get there.

And I’d argue both losses to SF weren’t embarrassing like to GB. SF was considered the better team.
How about that revenge game we were supposed to dish out to SF after 2 playoff losses?
And how did that one go 42-10?
Is that embarrassing enough for you bud?? :muttley:

So, you'd happier with 5 wins? Figures....living in the past with no hopes for the future. Go Cowboys!
Nice doggy woof woof ya I'll take 5 wins heck even 2 wins as it will give me a top pick in the draft to get a real Franchise QB.
No Pain No Gain........ man with the pretty doggy.

I certainly didn’t expect us to beat SF. I’ve made no claims this team is any better than the results we’ve seen.

As a matter of fact I shot down the hype bestowed on the team last year.

Dak can’t do what either of the qbs that played last night can do. I’m not sure anyone is winning SBs while Mahomes is out there

Admit the truth that we can only dominate dog teams like the NFC East provides.
We are 36-6 vs the Doggy NFC East.
Bet you're ok with that also..........Woof

When they resort to name calling instead of arguing the content of the discussion it’s a sign they have no other rebuttal but attempting to discredit personal. A typical troll like antics.

Who said Im ok with that. And I’ve been on record our hype is over blown . And we struggle against better teams and or defenses.

Don’t confuse me with the Homers just because I offer opposition to the other extreme.

I wish more fans would report the name calling and personal insults. They know I will. The Mods have encouraged us to do so.

I'm going to throw something else out. MM may decide to retire or take a break from coaching. Its very stressful and not family friendly, he's made a ton of money, he'll get media jobs and he and his wife are not from Texas - may want to be closer to friends/family. Dont be surprised if MM goes, even if its a successful season.
I really like Mike and watch most of his PCs. He seems very relaxed this camp and preseason, joking around with the press more than ever, even after admitting in the spring that he didn't like being a lame duck contract-wise.

My take is that he knows there's a good chance this is a throwaway year (for whatever reason, who knows what Jerry is thinking) but he also knows he's done a good enough job here to get another job next year if Jerry lets him go. So he's at peace with that, as he should be.

A rebuild just seems way more appealing at this point to me. Again...to me. Time to move on from Dak, he has had more than enough time to showcase he will be nothing more than a wilted flower vs elite teams, no matter what time of year it is. Big no thank you for me.

25% is way to optimistic. Heck 2% is even optimistic. I don’t think Dak ever has chance to win a Super Bowl. He will never win 3 or 4 games in a row in January on this team or any team.
Soooooo….you’re saying there is a chance…:

1. Path of least resistance… both sides want the status quo, and the easiest decision for JJ to make is to extend and cross his fingers that Dak will come thru this time

2. No alternative at QB… if there was a viable option to take the torch from Dak on the roster, maybe this decision gets harder. The fact is JJ and the FO have failed to develop anyone in the wings to take the wheel, so extending Dak is inevitable IMO

3. Scape-goat factor… JJ loves his image. Paying Dak makes him look like the good guy and the pressure to deliver shifts over to Dak to make it happen. If Dallas fails to win a SB with Dak, Prescott goes down as a (highly paid) failure.

4. Morale boost…. Signing Dak creates a boost to team morale and establishes some positive press. JJ loves to make a splash and steal headlines. Extension incoming IMO

For the record, I don’t think the chances of Dak winning a SB are very good. Put it at 25%. That said, he is our best shot considering where we are roster wise.

I am preparing for another 4 years of futility and will hope against hope things will break our way.
Dak winning a super bowl at 60 mil or so a season is close to 0%.

I get that but if you look at it objectively, in the past few playoff games we have played with dak at QB, he is not the reason we are losing these games. He hasn't played his best in the SF games and that's one thing but when you consistently get gashed by mediocre running games and your coach freezes up when faced with his predecessor it's hard to single out the QB as the single most important issue why we are losing these games.
There is no way you watched the GB playoff debacle.

Absolutely, the single most important issue is a terrible GM who does not understand how to build a super bowl contender.
