Why didn't the Cowboys fight back like the 49ers did?

Both the Cowboys and 49ers were playing at home. Both teams were down by multiple scores.

One roared back behind timely defensive stops and a few momentum changing plays. The other went out with a whimper.

What is the source of the contrast? Is it talent? Is it intestinal fortitude?

I'll say this, Shanahan looked like you could fry an egg on his forehead at the end of the 1st half. He was visibly perturbed. I wish I could hear his halftime speech because his players, his leaders like Deebo, came out with a chip on their shoulder in the 3rd quarter. Top, down they have something that is a completely foreign concept in Dallas - football character.

Cowboys need to spend all offseason dissecting what is preventing them from fighting back when they are put in a corner like the 49ers did last night.
Lack of intestinal fortitude for $2000 Zordon

Starts with the culture.... as many have said too many entitled, self promoting, individual record, money chasing.. players on the team...
The team need a sports psychologist or a hard nosed head coach... Jerry struck gold when he hired Jimmy Johnson because he was both (psychologist background and hard nosed coach)....
NFL teams have sports psychologists, either by professional association or on staff. Dr. Yolanda Bruce Brooks (link) is Dallas' psychologist.

I was curious about who the current competing Super Bowl franchise psychologists might be. Dr. Joe A. Mattox (article link mention) is San Francisco's and Dr. Shaun Tyrance (link) is Kansas City's.

Dr. Tyrance has his own webpage, Vice President of Player Services and Assessments, under the Front Office Staff heading of the team website. Seemingly, the Chiefs hold the importance of team psychologist in higher regard in relation to Dallas or even San Francisco.

I am certain Dr. Brooks is doing an excellent job within the Cowboys working environment. It would be impossible but I would love her professional evaluation of Jerry Jones and even Stephen Jones.

Jones tinkered briefly with a non-Jimmy Johnson hard-nosed head coach in Bill Parcells. It is highly unlikely he will ever repeat doing so, especially after remaining steadfast with Mike McCarthy and not even attempting to secure the services of available hard-nosed head coaches like Jim Harbaugh, Mike Vrabel and Bill Belichick.

The coaches and players are stuck with Dr. Brooks for the time being. Wish her luck.

Not the right DNA...Players play like the guys that coach them. Packers-Lions-KC-4D-whiners- Ravens. And we play like the coach we have...Lazy- unprepared-not ready for the Big stage.....Oh...did I mention "Jimmy" back in the day....

I'm just wondering are they just being crushed by the weight of the pressure of this franchise or is the country club atmosphere just making everyone soft here? Because everything you said is facts, but what makes it really sad and concerning is that everything you said could apply to the previous core and how they responded to adversity compared to the Coughlin NY Giants. Something gotta change man.
This 1000%, we have changed the coaches, players all of it...the end result is the same. Its the culture, just look at #11 and how long it took him to change...

. We fully understand you don't like Dak, even if he saves Grandma from a burning building. We got it.

Not likely. We've all seen how he chokes in a climate controlled environment like AT&T. How do you think he'll do trying to rescue someone from a smoky house?

San Fran has a defense. We do not. That made a huge difference.
We have some legitimate parts of a defense and some very big holes. What is the best way moving forward? Trading Micah sounds crazy, but it should Elbe at least looked into.

Actually I think we have some good parts of the D; just not enough and need a BETTER DC
IF we could strengthen the middle at DT and LB I think with a better DC we could have a top 5 or so D

I already explained this and it's not about Jerry imo like most think. Deion and Irvin agree with me.

Well, we've had two QBs starring in the climate-controlled environment. Now onto the next one. Right?

Dallas is soft. Plain and simple.

Do we have a safety that strikes fear going over the middle?

Do any teams game plan to stop our LB's or just game plan on how to exploit/advantage of them?

Are teams afraid to run towards Micah or actually do it intentionally?

Does Deebo cry on the sideline or is he blocking in the run game or for WR's down field?

If Diggs hits Kittle last year against the Niners, would we have won that game?

Our most physical players on defense are undersized.

The niners came out the second half with an attitude and were gonna *** win this game mentality.
Lmao. I love this nonsense.

4th down Reynolds drop
Dropped INT
3rd down Reynolds drop
Gibbs fumble
Williams dropped TD

Not one of those things had to do with the 9ers mentality, the Lions just played bad lol
