Why do you hate Henson?

It's simple.

Some here went out on a limb in predicting his failure. "He's another baseball player. Haven't we seen enough ex baseball players" blah blah blah.

Now, ya have two kinds of people. Those who are true fans who would LOVE to be wrong with a prediction if it means the Cowboys will be better.

And then ya have those who would rather be right, even if it means rooting against a player on their team. Sorry, I don't call those people "fans". Well actually, they are fans... fans of themselves.

Ya see, those are the people who laugh and congratulate themselves with a pat on the back as they cackle, "See I told ya I was right. Your side of the ship is sinking"

Not too bright if ya ask me.

I just wanna know why all the Henson hate is out there. What is it that makes people think he can't be the future here?

Think about the way he is playing in NFLE and ask yourself how fast would he get scooped up if we cut him!

I think this guy has a great upside and will be the man in 2009, if not sooner. Let me know why you don't think so.

For those that agree with me, I marvel at your wisdom!

I don't hate him. I hate the thought processes of those who thinks he can be any good. They are looking at him from a superficial perspective. He looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane. Hutch was away from football longer than Henson and looked better playing, even though he was terrible. IMHO, Henson will never be as good as Hutch or Romo because he doesn't have a feel for the game. Even though Henson is supposedly more talented than any qb we've had since Aikman, after two years he's still behind Romo who's yet to start a game. Why should we put all of our eggs in the Romo/Henson basket when they're both long shots. It takes a while to develop a qb with a 'real pedigree', yet we're wasting time trying to develop long shots. Our qb situation is easily the most dire in the NFC because the other 3 teams have qb's on board who can play at a high level for years and Bledsoe's time is growing short.

You called Chad Hutchinson a great talent. :lmao2:

Randy Mueller thought that Hutch was much more talented than Carter too.

Evidently, if you don't worship at the feet of Henson, you are a "Henson hater".

I'd just like to know what miraculous things he did in college that makes people think he is the "savior"?

Well said.

He was a very highly rated QB coming out of college. He has the size and had the skills to be a first round pick. If we can knock of some of the rust and get him to be a player for us, we will be a better team. If he can be a starter for us, even better. Too just write him off doesn't make any sense to me at all. Give the guy a chance to show what he can or can't do first. It's not like we have been overly successful replacing some guy named Aikman after all.

The fact is after two years on the team, he's shown less promise than even Hutch, who actually played well enough to win a game. Henson can't even beat out Romo. Even with all his faults, Hutch beat out Romo. We were successful enough to make the playoffs without Aikman and Emmitt and Irvin.
Since Parcells put in his players, we've taken steps backward and Henson is one of the main reasons.

Possibly the stupidest statement ever made in the world, perhaps the universe.

Our third string QB is one of the main reasons we've regressed. Uh-huh.

As a matter of reference. As a Cowboys starter Hutch was 2-7 which is a 22% winning %. Henson is 1-0 and I'd bet wouldn't need 8 games to get #2.

There's no comparison between the 2. Hutch was a statue with no pocket awareness. Henson is mobile and is making plays under pressure.

The only similarities between the 2 at this point are baseball, jersey #7, and NFLE. Hardly evidence to hang anything on. To know this though, you'd have to have had an open mind from the beginning.

Don't waste your time.

Ya know, I really like Cookie Dough ice cream. I can occasionally find much pleasure in Heath Bar Crunch ice cream. But cookie dough is my favorite.

Yep.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
I voted OTHER...because I like Henson. People, fans, media are all to "emotional" on players. When Henson was signed, I remember many positive fans about him, wanted him over VT, then we get Drew Bledsoe, BP shows an interest in Romo....and now everyone seems to hate Henson.

He's a Dallas Cowboy....let's show the support for the team we Love.

"Hutch beat out Romo"

You mean when Romo was a green player straight out of college? And Hutch had a year of experience and learning the plays on him. Prior to the arrival of Sean "I love Romo" Peyton. Similar to how Romo has another year on Henson, yet split backup duties with Drew that year.

Thanksgiving 2004. He is the starter of record. I'm sure you knew that though.
:laugh2: I knew he was the starter of record, but I'd bet a million bucks that being benched at half time would be the lowest valley for Henson since joining the Cowboys.........

I guess he had as much to do with that win as Quincy Carter did for those 10 wins in 2003:D

It's a similar concept. Valid point.

The fact of the matter though Charles is that the poster I was addressing twice states unequivocably that Henson is not Hutch's equal.

So let's drop the dance and get right to the point. Do you agree with this assertion, or are you just looking for an argument and know I will likely oblige?

I'd like to know now so that I know whether I'm laughing myself silly or seriously in a pertinent discussion in this debate.

Consider Henson's talent, size, and all that, and now throw into the mix the improvement he has shown in NFLE. If we cut him the summer as some emphatically state will happen, how long would he be free? Unlike QC or Hutch, teams would jump on him and we could very well face him in an opposing uniform.

I, for one, would not like to see him beat us!

How is it an agenda? What possible effect could people's 'hatred' of Henson have on the actual operations of the team? Dick Cheney has an agenda; posters on Cowboyszone have opinions, some more informed than others.

I said the same thing before. Perhaps they think saying someone has an agenda makes then look cool and smart.

Anyways, what I get sick of is people telling others what is the "proper" way to be a fan. Do I want Henson to fail and do everything in my power (which is absolutly nothing) to make him fail? No. Do I think he will fail? Yes. I don't hate the guy I wish him the best but I don't see him as the future QB of this team.
