Why do you hate Henson?

Evidently, if you don't worship at the feet of Henson, you are a "Henson hater".

I'd just like to know what miraculous things he did in college that makes people think he is the "savior"?

he's failed due to the dwarf-qb pic he can't help but worship.

the more henson threatens blesdoe, the more he'll push for failure of henson.

some people are far too clear.

Yes, I would prefer my football players to actually be football players. Bringing up Bernie Williams is irrelevant. He plays guitar in his spare time, and it is a HOBBY of his. Its not a career. He diddnt turn tail and run away from the Yanks (why would he need to, he is a great player) to play guitar for a living.

Well...that's not what you said originally. You said that the problem you have with Henson is that football wasn't his first choice..and he should have said that.

FYI...Bernie Williams has made a career with his second choice. Unlike you, I admire that. Pretty amazing in my opinion.

Unlike you, I think it's pretty damn cool that Henson was drafted by the Yankees AND traded for by the Dallas Cowboys...damn unique athlete.

I'm done.

I can see this is one of those circular discussions.

Keep rooting against him if that makes ya happy. :)

Well, he DID start 7 games, and was quite good at lobbing it up to David Terrell. Alot of people still put faith in that rediculous scouting report that said he would have been a first overall selection because who needs to think when an 'expert' can do it for you.

Actually, I think it was 8 games.

Even when this player in question is demonstrating incremental improvements each week, there seems to be some who have a strong opinion that he will never be able to play in this league.

Although the NFLE isn't close to the competition as this league, the fact that Henson is getting playing time and improving, gives a lot of us fans some hope.

Imagine if the Rams organization had given up on Kurt Warner like some of the fans here are so easily willing to give up on Henson. Sure he's not playing great but he's improving by gaining valuable playing time.

His current statistics aren't bad, he's made some impressive plays, but above all else, he's proving to be a leader by helping his team WIN.

I want to see him succeed - he deserves that chance.

BINGO.

Henson has more than a few million dollars... he didn't have to go to NFLE. He went there to try to prove something. That's good enough for me.

I don't see people saying he's the savior.

Plain and simple. He's got alot of physical talent. He went to NFLE to improve his game. I'll gladly root for a guy like that.

Just maybe he DID have to go to NFLE.

Players have to do alot of things that they don't like doing....regardless of the money if they want to stick around. It doesn't have to be a requirement.

In fact, the off-season workouts aren't "required", yet every player knows the deal if they don't show.

I don't have a problem with him. Although, since I don't worship at his feet and glorify every little TD he throws over in NFLE, I am a hater. In fact, I haven't said a thing about his performance over there cuz I just don't see a point in the debate....he's a 3rd stringer right now.

Maybe I should go to some other teams fans website and see if they are all talking about their 3rd stringer being "the guy" in a couple of years.

IIRC he practically begged JJ to send him over. That is that is how i remembered the story.

He was a very highly rated QB coming out of college. He has the size and had the skills to be a first round pick. If we can knock of some of the rust and get him to be a player for us, we will be a better team. If he can be a starter for us, even better. Too just write him off doesn't make any sense to me at all. Give the guy a chance to show what he can or can't do first. It's not like we have been overly successful replacing some guy named Aikman after all.

I don't think too many fans actually hate Henson.

Some of us are tired of hearing the hype, particularly since he hasn't impressed so far. It's pretty ridiculous to think that he'll start in 2006 barring injuries to Bledsoe and maybe even Romo, and yet there are routinely posts on this forum and others that suggest that he will overtake Bledsoe at some point during the upcoming season. In a way, that talk is like a poison pill to a rational observer when it comes to discussing Henson.

I really hope the guy succeeds, but for now my enthusiasm over the player is minimal.

I guess I'm missing the threads and posts that people are stating that they hate Henson.

LOL. Ignore Bledsoe4MVP. Any guy who obviously has man-love for his man will feel threatened when another man seems to threaten (no matter how remotely) his man's job. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Anyone who says "the fans that truly hate him are just angry we wasted a 3rd round pick on the guy" are agendized. How does anyone "hate" someone who he doesn't even know and his behavior hasn't even remotely come close to generating such hatred. And it was JJ and BP who "wasted" that 3rd round pick and not any of the fans.

I said 'the fans' that hate him.....I didn't say that I hate him personally.....I'm just more astute than others and realize that Henson wouldn't be in NFLE if he was a legit, starting calibur NFL QB. Also I'm not fooled by his mediorce performance over in Europe either. Henstud might end up making a fine back up someday in the NFL, but it won't be for the cowboys.

You call it man love, but in reality it's enthusiasm.....I'm excited that we have one of the all time greats leading this team. And even though he's not fresh out of washington state anymore, he's still only 34 and has at least 3 very good seasons left if he stays healthy and is surrounded with sufficient talent on offense.

I want to win now.....not later.

Oh....you work in the Reds organization. Cooooool. Thank you for elightening us.

He went to Europe, at the age of 26, he's already filthy rich. He didn't have to go to NFLE. So, you have a problem with players who want to show their coaches that they are worthy by doing things like volunteering to go to NFLE?

Makes sense to me.

Your right he didn't have to go to NFLE, he could have said no and just gotten released now instead of this summer.

Face it....Henson is in 'survival' mode, and he's doing what he can to stave off elimination in the minor leagues. (NFLE)

I'm not fooled by any of it...too bad you henstud supporters can't realize what's REALLY going on with this entire situation.

I guess I don't understand. How exactly has he failed us?

He was a long term project when we got him. He is just now getting the opportunity to play some and brush up on his skills and knock off some of the rust. Seems like we are at the beginning of his maturity into a NFL QB. And now, before he even has a chance to prove he can NOT play in the NFL, he has failed us???

He's 26 years old....even if by some miracle he hangs around the depth charts he wouldn't have a chance to start in Dallas until at least 2008...assuming that Bledsoe has retired his cannon that early. ;)

Because he sucks.

ps...whats with the stupid anti caps lock filter, can't you even type in an acronym? how lame.
