Troy Hambrick wasn't without a 200-yard game, either. Consistency is the key word here, and without it, you're just average.

Well our 2 average backs are helping this team avg 132 yards a game right now and allows the Cowboys to run the style of offense we need to have success.

take off your julius jones jersey and read the title. "why does julius suck so bad RIGHT NOW"

I could tell you about 10 different players that I like better than Julius - Marion Barber being one of them.

But I'm still left scratching my head about how a guy, who shares carries with another back and that has 877 yards rushing (right now) in week 12, "sucks"....

To me, that's a successful season, considering the facts of course.

(And let's not forget that Dallas is 8th in the NFL in rushing....how does that suck?)

I agree and the fact is Barber has not mouthed off either about not starting. These 2 are doing the job being asked of them. There is no doubt that Barber has had the hot hand as of late and chances are his carries could increase if that continues. Jones though has also had some very good outing this season putting up 3 100 yard rushing games in a row earlier in the season. I think both back compliment each other very well and feel comfortable with who ever is in the game.

Well, Doomsday, my old friend, I agree with you.

189 yards against a garbage Deadskins team by Hambrick in 2003. Aside from that, he never came even remotely close to that kind of production.

Julius put down 194 yards against a Carolina team that many were claiming was Superbowl bound this year before the season began. Julius had two back to back 150+ yard games his rookie year against Chicago and Seattle (150, 198), then he reeled off 149 against the Giants that same season.

It's hard to have consistency when you're splitting carries and coming off the field on third down.

He was never as good as Cowboy fans thought he was to begin with.

:laugh2: I'm laughing at you laughing. Because you're taking a small sample from this year and basing, uneffectively, the foundation of your assertion that Julius Jones sucks right now.

That's a pretty broad, vague and ignorant statement.

The fact is we're 8-4 with a 2-back system. Both backs compliment each other. Barber has been the guy who comes in after Julius has worn down the defense. Not to mention he comes out of the game on 3rd down and in the redzone.

Ever think, for a second, that we've been getting in the Redzone more frequently?

Or that we've found ourselves in more 3rd down situations?

Or, just happenstance.... or that the ball is getting distributed to other team members since we actually have a quarterback that can spread the ball around the entire offense?

It's just narrow-minded statement to say that he sucks right now. Particularly because you're not considering any other possible factors that may be involved.

Intstead, you make a blanket statement that Julius sucks right now.

Maybe you just don't have the capacity to see the bigger picture. That's all that I can think of. Because there is a lot more involved with our offense then making sure that Julius Jones' statistics look good for bellyaching fans.

anybody got a clue?

(And I don't think he sucks)

I think he's lost some confidence
MBIII is having a good run of games that in some respects diminishes JJ's production.
The game plan needs to be tweaked to play to JJ's strengths, whatever those are. Conversely, MBIII seems to have a better nose for openings.

its true that JJ is putting up some decent numbers but honestly, the only thing I think he is giving us right now is an adequate substitute so MBIII stays fresh and doesn't take too much of a pounding.
Is there ANYONE here that DOESN'T think MBIII would have significantly more yards if he had JJ's carries? (Obviously, if MBIII had ALL the carries, he'd get tired and take a beating but I'm talking same situational carries)

I'm starting to wonder if Tyson Thompson won't give us the same production that JJ would if he wasn't on IR. If TT can prove that he can, why would we keep JJ if another RB falls in our laps via the draft or FA?

HOMER! theres a reason why everybody has been saying barber should be the starter for the past month now.

1300 yards is a joke. The past four games JJ has averaged 47 yards a game.

If that same trend continues JJ ends up with barely over 1000 yards.

He needs to get moving if 1300 is what you all are dreaming up.

I don't think he'd have any better numbers. Maybe similar numbers, but you look at Barber the same way you look at Jacobs for the Giants. Is he better than Tiki?

Yes, he's productive when he comes in. But it's largely due to the fact that he comes in fresh.

The same goes for Marion. He's a good back, but he wouldn't be as effective if he took the majority of the carries.

Parcells rotating them perfectly as far as I'm concerned.

If he was producing, he wouldn't be splitting as many carries. He's average.
