There is no way Zeke is BPA at 4. Just not going to happen. Zeke is not going at 4.
Again, for your opinion, ok.

Jed,Maybe you need to have a lonnnnnnng talk with them jones boys ???Zeke is the 2nd best player in the draft. And definitely will be BPA at 4.
Yeah you bet Jerry would pass on a RB at 4 here's why Taking Zeke at four would make us a laughingstock of the league. #4 guaranteed money last year was like 26 mil so we are going to pay a guy 26 mil or more upfront before he has one carry in the league. When you can get similar production for .5-1.5 mil guaranteed and 1.5 a year. Look at McFadden's contract look at Morris' contract. McFadden rushed for 1000 yrds last yr and cost us .4 mil guaranteed and 1.5 mil a year. Todd Gurly at 10 got 9 mil guaranteed. It's like buying a new car. The rams bought a new car and had to obsorb the deprecation costs. We bought McFadden the used car at a substantial savings and they had about the same production.
Has anyone approached the issue like this?
.....How much value do you place in extending the career of Tony Romo?
Would it be worth a shorter career for a RB drafted #4 overall if he was a major contributing factor to defenses paying less attention to Romo?
If Murray (an average back?) can break two Hall of Famer's records and if McFaddan can resurect a morbid career, then what can a fresh, young elite RB do behind the same line with an additional year of experience together?
If Romo can produce a #1 NFL rating with the RB in 2014 behind an elite but relatively inexperienced line then what can he accomplish with both of those elements seemingly improved?
A CB or WR gets 50 mil G and RB's do good to get 20 mil G.
Teams and coaches today want to pass, and they dont really know how to use the run or have the line to do it.
They need to devalue some other positions.
It is all kinda crazy, and dallas will draft no telling who or what , best to just wait and see.
How aggressive are pass rushes going to be if Zeke is capable at any moment of turning into a receiver that is now past the first level of defenders?
Do most teams devalue the RB position only because they cannot come close to building the type of quality line now in Dallas?
If most teams are doing something "this" way offensively, then arent most defenses built to stop "this". If so, how capable are they in defending against "that" way?
What us the best way to neutealize outside rushers that seem to be getting quicker but smaller?
Henry's style, though, is not conducive to a long career. See Brandon Jacobs, Marion Barber, and more recently Demarco Murray.
There is one team whose franchise player is a rb, and that team isnt good. If they draft elliott, he has value for 4 years and after that becomes an albatross to keep. Thats best case scenario.
Two years ago, and as usual, the defense was ultimately our undoing. Tell me how Elliott leading the league changes that, when Murray leading the league didn't.
Everyone was loving DeMarco Murray and his 1800yrs two years ago but they seem to forget he was a 3rd round draft pick. Now folks want a great RB on the team again but for some reason think we have to use our 1st round pick to get it. That's just poor management of draft picks, IMHO. We can use that 1st pick to fill a bigger weakness and still have the 2nd or 3rd pick to get great RB talent. It doesn't have to be Zeke but that's the rabbit hole some folks fall in.
Using this logic would lead to saying we don't need to draft Romo's replacement because we can get on as an undrafted free agent after the draft.
The Rams could have used this strategy last year and passed on Todd Gurly and instead drafted Amir Abdullah or Duke Johnson ect...would that have helped them? I'm pretty sure they are happy with Gurly.

What other player deserves to be #4 overall in this draft if Ramsey is gone at 3. And we're set at OL. If we don't want Zeke, we trade down, simple. I'm sure teams like the Dolphins, Bears, Giants would like Zeke.
I would never advocate treating every position the same. Suggesting it is plausible is fool hardy. A quality RB is one position that has proven can be filled without paying a kings ransom, as was done last season. I never suggested replacing Romo would be so easy... but of course, you know this. You just enjoy being a contrarian.
Your infatuation with drafting a RB in the first round is foolish. You act as if the Ram's drafting of Gurley won them a Super Bowl when it didn't even get them a winning record. How happy do you think they are about that? Keeping him will be expensive and now they are about to spend a fortune on a rookie QB. If they can find a way to afford it all they might find some limited success but I doubt it.

You need to read my post above....
I'll save you the scrolling.
"For the record I am not sold on Zeke or the idea of drafting a RB first".
However, whats foolish is pretending the Rams are not happy with their selection of Gurley simply based on their record last year. I guess the Titans are not happy with Mariotta either since they had a terrible record after drafting him. The Rams are thrilled with Todd Gurley. I bet they wouldn't even trade him away if we offered the 4th pick in the draft for him.
Which running back did we replace Demarco with that is such a quality back? McFadden? The former 5th pick in the draft who has wowed us so much that we called the Eagles in a failed attempt to bring Murray back? Or the McFadden that was so amazing that our FO went and signed Alfred Morris and has been debating and working out Zeke Elliot.
Now McFadden played pretty well last year. But evidence suggest the FO doesn't feel we have his position set. Even if we draft a RB in the 2nd or 3rd round this back, along with Morris, will be taking many of McFaddens carries away.
Drafting Emmitt didn't give us a winning record in his first year either. But we saw enough in him to build our offense around him. I think it's safe to say that the Rams traded up because they need a quarterback, but one talented enough to be a bus driver and make the occasional big throw while relying on Gurley the rest of the way.
