Why not Romo? Why not now?

I agree that Bledsoe isn't the most likely guy in the NFL, but to say it can't be done is wrong.

We all hope it gets done, but his past doesn't show he could. Elway got better almost every year, and finally had the talent around him to do it. Drew has the talent, and he ain't gettin er dun the way he should be.

You gotta see and agree with that

Just because he hasn't doesn't mean he can't, genius. And hasn't he already taken a team to the Super Bowl? Didn't he win at Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game in '01? We have a great supporting cast here and if the OL gels, we can be extremely dangerous.

And guess what? If Pat Watkins and Roy didn't collaborate to give up 3 HUGE plays on D, and if McBriar doesn't drop that punt... we're 3-1 right now and NOBODY IS COMPLAINING ABOUT BLEDSOE, AND NOBODY IS GIVING UP OUR SUPER BOWL HOPES.

He won that game driving someone else's bus, remember?

And people would still be complaining, because our O-Line got freakin whipped all over the place. We'd just be griping and complaining with a better record.

It amazes me that some people still hang on to Bledsoe. I really don't see how getting rid of the biggest liability on this team is flushing the season.

Exactly

Hahaha... based on 1 bad game.

And don't bring up the Jags game or the end of last season as further proof, because I'm sure you weren't quite so cryptic about our chances with Bledsoe right before the Eagles game, were you?

So you're essentially flushing the season because of 1 horrible game. Beautiful.

I'll catch you back on the bandwagon after week 7. We'll be 4-2.

Quit acting like it was one bad game. Its been two bad games allready this year, remember Seattle last year? What about at New York last year? At Washington? What about the game against Oakland? Take your head out the sand.

EXACTLY! Why do some of these Bledsuck apologists not see this? The guy has talent, but he is also predictable. As perfectly stated by TTownCowboy, he makes rookie mistakes in his 14th season.

UNACCEPTABLE TO ME!

But just my opinion I guess

Last year, despite playing more than half the season with the worst OT combo in the NFL, Bledsoe put up nice enough stats to nearly make the Pro Bowl. And we still had a winning record. He was one of the few bright spots on this team, and NOBODY was calling for his head after the '05 season concluded. He helped make us all believers entering 2006.

Now, our defense should be better, our OL should be better, and our offensive weapons should be better. But you claim that the ceiling is 8-8 or 9-7? That's idiotic and irrational. Bledsoe's won in this league before, and he can do it again. Even on the road against a quality opponent. Or did you forget the Carolina and San Diego games last year?

Ooooh Tony Romo did well in preseason? So did Quincy Carter. What's your point?

There is no better alternative than Drew Bledsoe for right now. If he sucks in his next 2-3 games and we lose them, then I'd agree that it's time for a QB change.

But we're 2-2... and still have Super Bowl hopes. Those hopes DIE with Tony Romo at QB. How the hell could anybody disagree with that!?

How do you know what happens if Romo sees the field? He doesnt have a proven track record of horrid decisions and choking when the games get important.

Super Bowl? We have to make the playoffs first, and with deadslow at the helm, Im not liking the chances.

Are you blind? Do you have a 5 minute memory? People all over the place were saying that the biggest liability for this team was Drew Bledsoe. Adam Schein, for one, was saying that this Cowboys team isn't making the playoffs with Drew Bledsoe under center. How can anyone possibly use the "it was only one bad game" line? I guess they just have short memories.

Hahahaha... "proven loser".

There were threads on this board and at The Ranch before the season started speculating that he could be a Hall Of Fame inductee if he were to win the Super Bowl with the 'Boys.

But after a 2-2 start in which he's had a few bad road games against quality defensive teams... he's a "proven loser." Hilarious.
People all over the place were saying that the biggest liability for this team was Drew Bledsoe.
Didn't Peter King pick us to win the Super Bowl? Didn't many other publications pick us to go deep into the playoffs?
How can anyone possibly use the "it was only one bad game" line?
How? Here's how...

Be honest. Before the Eagles game, what was your take on the Cowboys Super Bowl chances THIS year? Were they nonexistent? BE HONEST.

Because if the answer is "no", then it WAS this game that is making you face-plant off the cliff.
He doesnt have a proven track record of horrid decisions and choking when the games get important.
BAHAHAHA! So now Bledsoe has a track record of being a "choker"? I guess you missed the Chargers, 49ers, Panthers, Eagles, and Chiefs games last year.
Super Bowl? We have to make the playoffs first, and with deadslow at the helm, Im not liking the chances.
Didn't we finish 9-7 last year and barely miss the playoffs? And isn't our team much stronger on paper this year than it was last year?
How do you know what happens if Romo sees the field?
Chances are he won't be the next Tom Brady. That's pure logic. He might be, but he LIKELY won't be.

The point is, it would be idiotic to gamble the season on a kid who's never thrown an NFL pass when we STILL HAVE THE SAME SUPER BOWL HOPES WE HAD DURING THE PRESEASON.

I'm still just absolutely astonished that a bad game in EARLY OCTOBER is enough for you clowns to jump off the deep end and give up on the season, when we're still 2-2 and right in the mix.

Good thing Parcells (ya know, that guy who knows INFINITELY more about football and his team than any of us) sees things my way and not yours.

The people that think Drew Bledsoe is a hall of famer are delusional, end of.

Drew Bledsoe is a proven loser his entire career, he set the record for the most interceptions in the Super Bowl that stood until the mighty Kerry Collins came along and tied him. He is such a great player, but has gotten chased out of two seperate NFL cities, what sense does that make?

I diddnt like our Super Bowl chances at the beginning of the year, and I thought it would be a struggle to even make the playoffs in this division with this QB. Maybe you should tone down your expectations just a bit?

I wasn't too excited about our chances going into the pre-season, however, I assumed at that point that an all-star wide receiver corps and a revamped (if you can say that) O-line might be enough to overcome the mistakes Bledsoe has. Week 4 of the preason scared me a little as I saw those "dear in head lights" looks from Bledsoe several times early. After week 1, I was ready to tie the noose myself. I had tickets to the Commanders game in week 2 and was downright sick to my stomach that Greg Williams would have his number. Fortunately, the Commanders played about as terribly as one could hope for.

Week 4? It was the Titans. Didn't change my opinion one way or the other. Before Sunday I was saying that the one person that could lose the game for us was Bledsoe. I had that sick feeling in my stomach all week. I knew Jim Johnson was foaming at the mouth. He obviously saw what the Vikings were doing (stacking the box with 8-9 players and bringing at least 7 per play) and it worked wonders.

To answer your question, yes, I've thought this entire time that Bledsoe was our biggest liability. I naively thought that the pro-bowl talent surrounding him on offense and defense would carry him through the season. I was wrong.

Yeah, we need a QB like Ben Roethlisberger to win the Super Bowl. Ben Roethlisberger is FAR superior. How's he doing this year, by the way?
