Why people continue to defend the Jones is mindnumbing to me

Who defends them? Most have just accepted this is what it is and we are die hard fans. They aren’t selling the team. Things likely won’t Change and it’s redundant *****ing about them every season.

you may as well stop watching if you expect anything to change in that regard. Sad but true. Come to grips with it or move on

You can bad mouth them if you want, but all they have to do is to bring in 2 veteran tackles by free agency or trade and cut Josh Ball and move him to the practice squad. They have the cap space and the guys that you are bad mouthing created this space.

LOL. They created the space largely to rollover in 2023 when they are initially projected to be almost $12 million OVER THE CAP. They can't be spending a lot of money in FA right now because they are likely counting on the cap space they created by dumping Cooper and Collins and restructures to other guys to help alleviate their cap issues in 2023.

If they sign anyone, I suspect it will be at bargain bin prices.

I remember them chuckling years ago saying oh the fans "think" they're football people , but we "are" football people.
Yes Bad football people lol
Amassing $$wealth and business success is one thing, but being well respected, solid professional "football people" (executives) is a bridge too far for the Jones bunch. Not now, not ever.
There are people on this website who forgot more about football than the Jerry and family et al can ever hope to know.

Hey Ken, if you want to sell me on just accepting this year could be a lost year and let Tyler Smith take his lumps at LT, then sure, go for it.

They should have had their OT already on the roster. They knew this was a risk that Tyron Smith wouldn't stay healthy. But they took a high risk approach thinking they could just keep a bunch of slop/rookies on the roster and somehow that would work. And now they are scrambling.

But I am not surprised you are making excuses for the Jones' here. But that will change when you see our LT getting whipped. Then suddenly, the Jones didn't do enough. LOL.

They do. His name is Tyler Smith. He is their RT of the future and the future is now!

We have no other options lol. We cannot control anything that happens
False. Stop going to home games and purchasing merchandise. That’s the only way Jerry and Stephen will make significant changes.

is mindnumbing to me.

How they have handled the OT spot since last season ended is a case study in their ineptitude. Tyron Smith is a great LT, when healthy. He's never completely healthy. Banking on him to be healthy for a full season is always a risk. It should surprise zero people, including the two nitwits running the team, that Smith got hurt....... again.

They decided the other starting OT, Collins, was too much of a headache, making too much money to bring back. They had Steele in the wings and they thought he made Collins expendable. Only problem is that even with his flaws, Collins was easily one of your 2-3 best OTs on the roster. With, again, the other top OT being a complete injury risk every season. Nevertheless, they sent Collins packing.

So they had Smith and Steele. And then the depth chart was basically Ball, a guy who had never taken a NFL snap. They sat on their ***** in FA when there were decent OT options out there in FA. They threw a draft pick in the later rounds at an OT from North Dakota. Jerry and Stephen looked at each other and believed they were in fine shape at OT.

They weren't. Most fans have been saying this for two months. But Jerry and Stephen plowed ahead thinking everything was great. And then what was entirely predictable, Smith getting hurt, happened and what the Cowboys have right now is a turnstile in Ball and them forcing a kid with a shoulder injury from North Dakota to try to play through the pain and not damage his shoulder further.

And many yahoos on this board defended the front office on how they handled the OT spot. Geezus.

Oh and guess what? They are doing the same thing with the WR spot.
the Jones bashing can be mind numbing too, what does it accomplish?

I’m soon to be 52 years old, relatively good health (knock on wood), I have seen the last Cowboys SB win of my lifetime.

I truly believe that, mainly because dumb and dumber have no concept of roster building. Football isn’t even a priority for those 2 idiots.
I'm 57 and I already have come to grips with never seeing another SB win. Probably won't see them play in another NFCCG either. Jones is just happy with being mediocre and winning the weak NFC every couple of years. This year shouldn't really surprise anyone. When's the last time we had 2 great regular seasons back to back?

Some of us have learned that it doesn't do any good to criticize the Jones (I assume we're mostly talking about Jerry Jones).
In fact I believe that more Jerry knows he's being criticized, the more stubborn he becomes.
.
But if you want to vent your frustration on the Jones, by all means go ahead.

Some still worry about him not getting enough credit. It’s baffling that anyone would actually care at this point.. besides him!

Never heard ONE person defend Jerry EVER on this website or any other.

You must not read the board that much.

I mean you have guy in this thread stating Jerry did nothing wrong in their approach to OT up until now.

I agree that the Jones’s are stupid. But McCarthy isn’t. He foreseen this happening and even said McGovern is the starter before Tyron went down. He anticipated Tyron getting injured and I guarantee Tyler will take the LT reps for the next 2.5 weeks. I’m excited about Tyler starting at LT and don’t think he’ll ever give that job back. He’s much more powerful and physical than Tyron at this point.
