Mets would be ok if they could only face the Braves, Phillies and Marlins. Unfortunately outside those teams they are horrible. Still waiting for the Captains back to miraculously heal. There has to be a better alternative to 3rd base than Campbell. Of course that would require Sandy Alderson to be proactive and make a deal, something he wont do unless he is the clear winner. Bring back Omar. Heck bring back Steve Phillips....

I don't expect DWright back this season, his back is worse than what they are letting on to. With that said, it is rumored that the Mets and Brewers are in talks. MIL wants Gee and NY wants Aramis and it would only cost an extra 5 million to do this trade.

But, this is the Mets, Sandy and Wilpon......so it won't happen :(

They will counter with a lowball of Niese and want the Brewers to pay half of the difference in salary only to get rejected. Then, the Mets can say to their fans "we tried but no one wanted to work with us". Rinse and repeat on other players.

Bottom line is.......until the Wilpons sell, nothing much will change.

They said Wright will be back. I believe it. It's just if he comes back he offers very little now.

Omar and Phillips weren't afraid to make moves to try and better the team. Sandy is the exact opposite, but that may also be due the cheapness of the Wilpons.

Colon would be good trade bait to a contending team to bring in an outfielder(big bat). The Mets have the pitching to let Colon go.

Never believe what the Mets say about injuries, they botch those up all of the time. Even if he comes back(August), he may get injured again :(

His back is messed up good...........

Yeah. A lot of bad moves. Omar only had Dominicans on his team. Phillips wasn't good at all.

I'm sorry but you do to trade the guy who has you in first place. You just don't.

At his age and weight he is only valuable to the mets.

It is why I said "contending". Colon isn't part of the future and he does have some trade value, probably in a package.

I am not saying to get rid of him, he is a huge part of where they stand now albeit not sure how long they can hang on with this offense. The Mets need hitters, not old, fat pitchers.

Again, I appreciate what he has done this season and won't be upset if he finishes out his career here.

As for the above two clown GM's....yes, they made a lot of bad moves but at least tried to field a competitive team. Sandy fills in holes with career minor leaguers, has-beens and never were players while trying to sell them to the fans. All three are/were horrible at their job. I am not going to list the players who each GM brought in and had the most success with, but Omar wins in that category.

- Headley took a grounder off his cup for a 2-base error.
- Headley and Pineda bumped into each other trying to field a bunt that went for a hit..
- Teixeira made a 2-base throwing error... his first error in 109 games.
- Teixeira dove for a ball and then couldn't get it out of his glove to make an easy flip to the pitcher - base hit
- Gardner and Beltran converged on a routine fly ball and then watched it fall in front of them for a hit

There may have been more, but they were awful in the field.

Omar made a ton of bad moves but he would get involved in players all the time. Sandy doesn't get involved from the get go because he knows other teams will beat his low offer. He is scared of getting beat on a deal.

mets are bringing a kid up from Single A for bullpen work. He is already on the 40 man roster and they dont want to bring up someone with more experience because that would require them to make two moves. Multi tasking is not the Mets strong suit. Seems likely they are using the dart board for decisions on the team now. I think the committee GM they used between Phillips and Omar may be better than their current situation. They are also thinking about moving Syndergard to the bullpen. How is this team within ten games of first much less in first place. If they would have had a defense, they would have swept the Braves, but Flores got the jitters on double play ball in the 9th and botched it. Then he said he was just happy to knock it down. He apparently went to the school of Deflection taught by Professor Jeffy Wilpon. Why own up to screwing up? Just say what you did was good enough even if it was a screwup. Geesh this team.

Yankees pulled it out against the O's to save from being swept. Tied for 1st place still but that series hurt a little bit. Tanaka vs Koehler tonight in Little Havana.

Reality is we aren't that good. We are not going to win every series. Orioles are a desperate team.

Enjoy it now . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Thanks. I am.

Baltimore will never see first place this year.

Well, Tanaka pitched well but Koehler was better. 7th inning dinger won it for the Marlins. Nice performance by the Marlins pitching staff.

Mets are doing their typical June Swoon. The management will wait just long enough and not do anything so they can say there is no reason to trade their young assets for this year. They are already talking that next year is the year to compete. What a bunch of morons running that zoo. Sandy Alderson is a joke of a GM and the Wilsons are the joke owners of baseball. Thanks Bud Selig for keeping those idiots around.

And here the Astros have a load of terrific offensive players in the minors, here's a chance for the Mets to exchange some of their pitching talent for hitting talent.

Not sure how the Wilsons are doing, but the Wilpons suck.
