To rub salt in the wound.....the Astros get Gomez :(

My wifes favorite team, heh

Ok, so who do I believe? Do i believe the credibility of the Astros whose medical staff would not sign off on the #1 choice in the draft last year or do I believe the credibility of the Mets medical staff who cannot properly diagnose any injury for their own players they see every day. Hmm. Astros in the right hand. Mutts in the left. That is about right.

As you've said all along. You said it before the season started.

The Yankees are going to be fine. We get Pineda back in plenty of time.

Baltimore just lost any shot, no matter how small it may have been by the blue jays moves.

The Yankees starting staff has been held together with Band-Aids for the entire season. If there's one place where they aren't as good as several teams and that's in the starting rotation.

Could be their downfall.

Collectively, this team just finds a way. We are in way better position than teams that are 5-10 games out of first.

Oh yeah, baltimore lost last night.

In other trade news, the Mets have agreed in principal to send Matt Harvey and Jacob deGrom to the Phillies for Jeff Francouer. However the Mets are requiring the Phillies to pay the remaining $75000 of Francouers salary.

Lots of talk right now around the Padres moving Pitching and Upton. Astros are in the discussion but I don't know how far they will go after having traded for Gomes and Fiers.

Yankees are also in the mix and that might make the most sense. Yankees have young talent they can add to a deal and, more importantly, they can take on the cap of both Kimbrel and Upton. If the Yankees add Kimbrel, that gives one of the best Bull Pens in the Majors, maybe the best. If they add Upton, that gives them a good hitter with enough power to hit 20-25 in the majors. In Yankee Stadium, those numbers likely go up and He's young.

Could be a real good move for the Yankees. Might even see another starting pitcher.

San Diego says for any deal with the Yankees, Mateo has to be included. Cashman does not want to move him.

Not what I heard. What I hear is that Sevarino, Judge and Bird are the only untouchables but that Mateo could be in play for the right deal. Who knows what is real thou.

Lots of talk that the Yankees are also interested in Chapman or Capps. If Chapman, the Yankess probably also have to take on Phillips contract.

Yankees could actually do nothing. I don't believe, to this point, anybody in the East has done anything to change the landscape of the East. Yankees still have a pretty decent chance of winning the East but the question is, how well can they do in the playoffs? KC is easily the best team in the AL IMO and they just helped themselves quit a bit and I think Toronto probably did as well. Can the moves the Yankees might make, improve their chances, should they make the post season, enough to go deeper into the playoffs?

What I'm hearing on the deal between the Padres and the Yankees, per Joel Sherman, is that Mateo could be in play but it might be a deal that includes one of San Diego's pitchers as well.

It's past the 4 PM Eastern trade deadline so unless there is a deal that has already been made, it's pretty much academic.

They might not. Can't burn the youngsters.
Toronto, on paper, could pose a threat.... But we handle wright pretty good. Tulu... Meh.

Cashman has all my confidence. 100%

Sevarino's next start will be with the big-club.

He could help plug the leak in the starting rotation.
