been a Met fan since 1969. As pessimistic as one can be, thanks to the Wilpons. But it is nice to see them doing this well this early. Red, the Mets typically do go into a dive right after the all star break but they also dont typically win 11 games in a row. Usually it is the braves walking into town and sweeping the Mets. Was nice to finally return the favor. Now on to the Yankees.

So much is being made about the mets 11 game win streak. The Yankees were one hiccup away in Detroit from tonight being 8 in a row? By Monday it could be 9 wins in 10 games?

So true. If both Harvey and deGrom stay healthy this season and Niese is half decent, Mets have a chance to finish ahead of Nationals.

Was DeGrom healthy tonight?

I don't know what that's for? Maybe put the yankee logo on the broom?

Wait..... Is that the broom that was used on baltimore last post season? Lol

Orioles 7-9..... I mean 7-10

Baltimore needs better pitching.

Their hitting has been OK, but they're last in ERA.

Right now they have to go 89 and 56 the rest of the way to equal last season's record.

That's a .613 clip and that would be outstanding for a team that's having the pitching problems they are.

Look. We all know previous seasons success doesn't guarantee the following seasons success. Unless you are the Yankees.... Win the east or make the playoffs for the better part of the last 20 years.

Baltimore may never have truly recovered from that colossal beat down last post season.

Is it time to add Baltimore to the "will they win 80 games"? Thread title?

I'm surprised their pitching has been this bad.

I figured it was going to be the soft spot of the team.

With 145 games left to play being 3 games out and 3 games below .500 and 3 of 5 starting INFer's out, and nobody except Adam Jones playing well, and the pitching overall not anywhere near where they will be Im about as concerned as I would be if the Cowboys start game 1 of the 2015 season with a 3 and out.

Last year on June 1st the Orioles werent at .500 and won the division by 12 games.

Talk to me in August when half the Yankees roster is rehabbing at Magnolia Gardens Nursing Home.

That's a valid point about last season and the June 1st thing.

The Orioles hitting has been decent.

I'm just not sure what they're going to do about the pitching.

League leader in homers.

Adam Jones s off to an MVP start, but its early.

The pitching has found every way imaginable to give up big 2 out hits and rbi's to the opponents. SPer's and bullpen have contributed in a group effort to it all. HArd to see the pitching stay this bad for long, but you never know.

And just like that CC gives up 4 HUGE runs with 2 outs to make it 5-1 Mets Mets Mets!

If it were me I'd move Sabathia to long relief.

As a starter he stinks quite frankly.

If the Yankees can't find a better #3 starter, their chance to compete for a playoff spot looks dismal.

If the announcer is right, CC has to be almost perfect to be effective now since he lacks velocity.

Well yeah. He has to become like a lot of lefty's that have lost velocity and get better at placement. The trouble is tossing away starts on a guy trying to perfect his craft seems like an epic waste to me. If you want to win you have to pull the guy out of the rotation and let him work on his approach to the game in long relief.

Who would replace him?
