Julius is gone and all those Julius haters need a new target and Roy is it.

Roy missed 2 days of teaching sessions, as the priority was something else. Hence a sitdown was called with him (the Ellis comments were also a factor). Now on the one hand we have a person saying they aren't comfortable in the defense, and on the other we have someone skipping 2 days of teaching sessions. Oh boy!
This is interesting in itself. If Romo didn't show for 2 meetings, or if Ware didn't show for 2 meetings, I think this would be pretty big news (of course, if it got out). But expectations for Roy certainly seem to have fallen.
I think that is a confirmation sign that the football side of things isn't as high a priority as the other things. This is Roy's choice of course, and his right. His employer and Football fans might not like it, but charitable work is at least a good thing to do.
Now as a guy worried about his play on the field, and subconscious or even conscious attitude, this adds fuel to the fire that this isn't the same player of years ago.
You're only about 9 months off.bbgun;2078711 said:He was in meetings all year long with these coaches and waited until a few days ago to express his displeasure? Lovely.

He expressed some form of displeasure 9 months ago to Greg Ellis. That may or may not have resided over the course of the season. Whether or not there was any other undisclosed displeasure after the entire season had passed is unknown.bbgun;2078730 said:Um, the coaches were in the dark nine months ago. His unhappiness is a revelation to them, hence the impromptu meeting.
it has nothing to do with big hits. how about forcing a fumble like jason hatcher did against the vikings? or getting an interception in a big moment like tnew against buffalo or washington. he didn't make big plays last season and you can't argue that.DaBoys4Life;2078709 said:In our defense most of the plays being made are come from the OLB. Either DWare or Ellis more DWare than Ellis. Our defense has 6 pro bowlers on the team it is easy to overlook some one value to the team when they are not making those huge bone jarring hits that end up on SC.

So either you're referring to the previous, 9 month old, disclosure or some other unknown disclosure.
You're right. They were apparently blindsided by the Ellis quip. But that has little to do with what you said:bbgun;2078738 said:Who cares? The answer amounts to mere trivia. My original, benign, uncontroversial post stands. Every indication points to the coaches being blindsided by the Ellis quip, so they took immediate action. If you're determined to be a contrarian this weekend (and all signs point to "yes"), please do so at someone else's expense. There's more to life than snark and bile. Time to get off this merry-go-round to nowhere.
There's no indication he had a problem with the system all season long. Ellis' quote was from the start of training camp. We have no idea if he has a problem with the scheme after having played in it for a full season. So the "few days ago to express his displeasure" line was incorrect, which is what I pointed out.bbgun;2078711 said:He was in meetings all year long with these coaches and waited until a few days ago to express his displeasure? When did he say this?theebs;2078749 said:wow all this from an accidental repost. It is definitely the heart of the offseason.
I wonder if Brian Stewart saying blatantly YES when asked if roy would come off the field on 3rd downs this year ticked roy off and he decided to go on the radio with irvin and then maybe has been complaining about it and ellis spoke up in his way about it?

Roy should be on the bench on first and second down too. im sorry folks but this guy cant play anymore. it's time for Jerry and the coaches to face up to it no matter how much money he makes. dont let this guy destroy another season. he's terrible.PERIOD!theogt;2078750 said:When did he say this?
