Win Or Lose

LOL....

And then there are many who won't come anywhere near this place after a loss, or a close win, or after a game.

After games, we can have a "Euphoria Zone" and a "Concerns Zone".
After a loss I understand. After a win, I confess...I don't.

Football season is a like a long road trip for me. No doubt I'm excited about my eventual destination, as are most travelers.

But we've all ridden with some of those folks that always ask "are we there yet", "how much longer", "this road really sucks there had to be a better route", "we're lost god******", "I'll bet so and so is having a better vacation."

You want to go with them but the constant *****in' is enough to drive you insane.

I've always felt the best part of a road trip was not only the destination, but the trip itself. Living and experienceing each leg, getting off the beaten path to enjoy the local culture, perhaps even getting lost just for the unexpected experiences you may come across.

Sure, I'll make some mistakes along the way, and will make a note of it for another time...but at the same time, figure what I've learned from it.

So, just stick with your own itinerary, enjoy the trip cuz you know the end will be sooner than later, and leave the naggers behind at the next rest stop.

And don't forget to send a postcard.

I hear and understand what you're saying but this place has become so much bigger than we ever thought... and it's only going to get bigger.

Everyone is not going to be happy - that's the nature of the beast.

I realize you get more PM's but that is also the nature of your "job."

Unfortunately, guys like myself don't tell you enough what a good job you are all doing (except CBZ - he's a slacker).

There has to be a place to vent - and that place is ... well...you. ;)

Bottom line is, this is the best place there is, by far, and we probably don't thank you enough for running such a great site.

There are going to be complaints and it's a given that there are some miserable complainers around here.

Probably easier for me to say as I don't see the PM's as you state but like I said - this place is HUGE and has the best posters on any Cowboys site there is.

My guess is that you are one turkey fart away from being ok.

Cheers.
:laugh2:

Or maybe I need to be called a SF now and then. ;)

I know what the problem is. My favorite holiday is now a year away and one of my least favorites is in full capitalism mode.

Some of that isn't bad. Some of it is just plain deflating. It started with the first game of the year and it hasn't abated one bit. Each week someone feels the need to remind everyone that "its' okay to express doubts about this team." But it's not good to express joy.

At least it doesn't seem like it. I get the feeling a lot of you genuinely dislike each other. I'll be honest, I don't really understand that. I've never met a Dallas fan in my life who wasn't fun to shoot the bull with in person. Yet behind a monitor and keyboard people act like they can't stand each other.

I'm not asking for there to be unadulterated optimism and Koolaid everywhere. But is it too much to ask that some of you at least enjoy it?

I found this place simply because I am a longtime Cowboys fan. I came here with no agenda (what kind of "agenda" would really matter anyway?)

I found out IN A HURRY that if you dared to express a negative view concerning this team you were going to be labeled a troll, called a moron, have it suggested that you end your life, etc etc etc.

It is not the "agenda boys" who are doing these things. It is the members with thousands of posts who act like this.

It is unfortunate that some seem to need the agreement of everyone in order to find peace within themselves but that is a personal issue that must be dealt with by the individual.

I personally am VERY HAPPY about the success of this team. I want more though. There are many examples of teams getting 12, 13 even 14 wins in the regular season and getting bounced in the playoffs because when push came to shove, against quality competition, their weeknesses were exposed.

The minute you stop trying to identify and eliminate your weaknesses is the minute you you become ripe for the picking.

Yes, enjoy the moment. Dont be to hard on those that only want to get better and look to see what needs to be done in that regard.

Or at least make it known on registration that only the good things will be talked about. I would have stopped the registration process right there myself.

How do you as admin feel about the name calling and thread hijacking that goes on? Wouldn't just ignoring the posts be more in the interest of the forum, as well as more respectful to all?

I think what Hos (my friend) and others are missing is that people are different...

not exactly sure why that is hard for some people to understand...

some can see the great Hoover dam... others see it has leaks... it takes all kinds

What gets my goat is the audacity of some to tell others how to think or try and belittle them for expressing thoughts...

If someone complains about Roy...you can read or not read, agree or disagree, discuss or not discuss, but no..... we got to have people on here that have to complain that others are complaining...and others that complain about the complainers complaining...and then to top that all off... we get to hear from others who believe they have a better insight into life from where they sit and want to depart their wisdom upon all...

This is a discussion board!!!!! were you are suppose to have a free exchange of information... but it is becoming less and less so because of the stu & pid crews that continue to attack the free flow of information...

If you don't like negative comments...tough... don't read/discuss/agree with them... but for sanity's sake quit attacking or belittlin the poster... you cannot change the posters views by such means but you can spam up the board...If you wish to try it with reason you chances of changing the poster's views are greater but by no means great...

same goes with the pollyanna poster

it takes all kinds people... this wish of only being around your type and those that agree with you is selective segregation and if history has taught us anything it is that...that is not the way you should wish to be...

so enjoy the ride the best way you as an individual can...whether that is to praise or to curse, to comend the glory or condem the faults... do not let yourself be swayed by the will of others but to use your own mind and heart as the guide for your own actions.

Rejoice in you individuality and know that those who ridicule you for not following the crowd are weak of will...

O, please do stop.

This coming from the same guy who'd blow a gasket any time that someone would say something about Henson.

Poor ole Ben, ya still don't get it... but our little back and forth is a perfect microcosm of what I was talking about... it is too bad that you will never be able to grasp the entire concept...but like I said it takes all kinds.

Oh and Benny reply if you wish but I am through with this subject...I have no more time or energy to fight this windmill

Hos, I hear you bro, I'm tired of the agendas, sometimes it looks like what someone's opinion of a player or players matters more than the team's successes or failures

hey, I just rhymed

but we should be enjoying the season, instead of fighting about which #4 receiver of ours has a better chance to be a #1 or 2 in the future

or the 20 million Roy threads etc etc

I don't want everyone to think like I do. It might seriously hurt people's heads.

I tried that for about a half an hour once... hurt my head... eventually, I wound up banging my head against a wall until I passed out... when I came to, I was feeling much better... I even kinda enjoyed the headache...

I'm questioning why some can't at least be happy.

Well, I can't presume to speak for the others, but for me my joy at 10-1 is mitigated by the lack of trolls these days... I haven't had my usual playmates to abuse, and I'm beginning to go through withdrawal...

This wasn't a problem in the Campo era, there always seemed to be a steady supply of willing trolls to abuse...

Show me a silver lining, and I'll show you a cloud...

Meanwhile there are 2 or 3 posters who hate this place but won't leave. They profess their hatred regularly towards the forum, fellow fans, etc.

Just issue me a blanket immunity for anything I might say to them, and I can rid this board of the aforementioned haters inside of a month...

For the first three, I'll waive my normal fee... I will, however, expect to be named Poster of the Year for my efforts...
