Win Or Lose

A week or two ago I said that I had gotten to the point I was avoiding this board until a day or so after a win because I'd come here right after a game to share the celebration, instead I'd be totally bummed out because of all the negative attitude.
I'm nearly there.

I'm giddy about the team and I want to talk with my fellow fans.

Maybe I should start a Roy Williams thread. He's the new Quincy. Guaranteed to get people talking.

I'm with you Hos....No football team is perfect, not even the Pats....:).....

I'm sure the coaches are aware of the things that may be flawed and will do everything possible to correct them.

As for me I'm enjoying the heck out of how this team is performing....they may not be the 92, 78, or 71 Cowboys yet.... the 07 Cowboy are in the process of writing their own legacy and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

At the end of the day, CBZ, this team may end up as the best of all those teams. Not losing another game and winning the Super Bowl and STILL we will have complaints.

"We won the Super Bowl, but if we don't get our kicker to kick deeper than the 10 yard line on Kick offs, we will never be able to repeat."

That's the kind of nonsense I fear will happen. At which point I will wear out the  Smilie.

Better watch yourself Hos or you will be accused of crushing dissent.

Crushing dissent has an unfairly bad rap... if practiced responsibly, it can in fact be quite an exhilirating experience... some say it has aphrodisiac powers...

You just need to be on the lookout to avoid sudden, irresistible impulses to invade Poland... :D

I've been enjoying myself this year like I've been unable to enjoy myself in a long, long time... not only are the Boys winning, they are a high-octane offense that can really put points on the board...

I'll argue with the Chicken Littles, but there ain't a snowball's chance in Hades they'll be able to bring me down... I think that crew thinks I'm putting them down when I say I feel sorry for them, but I really do; if you're a Cowboys fan and you're not enjoying this season thus far, you've had your sense of fun surgically removed... that, or a rather large board shoved up your...

Well, never mind... 10-1, bay-bee... been rooting for the Boys since 1960, never have been able to say that about them... 'nuff said...

10-4, silver bear.

My Roy Williams post radar went off so I came to this thread to check it out. All is good here though, carry on.:)

Seriously, I hear ya Hos.

This season has been great. At 10-1 anything less than a Super Bowl appearance will be a dissappointment to me. The joy i feel about my team is awesome. Of course in defeat it will hurt all the more. Maybe some just find negatives to protect themselves from getting hurt.
Yep, that's exactly my point as well. Too many 5-11 seasons, too many December collapses, some people here are waiting for the other shoe to drop. Well, as JJT said in his piece this week, it ain't happening.

This team is going to the Superbowl, and what happens there is anyone's guess. Now enjoy the ride, will you??

I think it's hilarious that arguably the best fan forum on the net has all these fans with one common thread, the love of the Cowboys, yet they take take a positive like a win and decide to rip the team apart without even enjoying the win with their fellow fans.

And you are right, the infighting is getting old.

Oh, dear-- is Elmer misbehaving again??

I guess it depends on what dissent you are crushing.

Even if we blow it in the Playoffs, it will be impossible for me to be totally unhappy Skaven. I can't believe how happy I am watching this team.

I see coaches smiling and high fiving players. I see players laughing and joking. In person Cowboys fans do the same. They are having a ball.

I miss that. Why am I missing it? I can't wrap my mind around that.

Good post and something that always kind of trips me out when I come here after games. Mainly I see it as ego and expectations. "Win but win dominantly and close to perfection and if we you don't I'll tell you the reason why..."

All I know is I'm loving this season and I struggle to wait week to week for the next game. We are winning. We are legitimate. And we have a good shot to not only go to the Super Bowl, but win it.

Just like everyone else, I have my fave players I want to see do well or play more often, but the mix we have is producing outstanding results and I'll take it. I haven't forgotten those 5-11 years either, not by a long shot.

I don't know Hos. Really, I think the negativity spawns discussion and some just really want to post. Doom and gloom and pronouncements on all that is wrong with our team generates more responses than appreciation or positivity it seems.

Jump on the latest hot topic and go from there. Early in the year it was "Jones sucks, Barber should start, trade or cut Jones." Now that Marion's PT has increased and prior to today, he kind of came back to earth, in fact - Jones had looked the better back - you dont see those posts anymore.

Now, it's Roy sucks. Everyday somebody has a Roy sucks post.

Whatever man. I'm lovin and enjoyin the ride. Hos, I come and just scan the titles after games, smile and shake my head. Funny.

Hos, Hos, Hos... it's hard to believe you're the man who advised us to "embrace the hatred"...

Just think of the nuclear meltdown in here when Roy makes the Pro Bowl again... imagine the fun we'll have, watching that...

Screw all the haters, BIG game comin' up next Thursday... I honestly believe the winner of that game will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs... it's likely these are the two NFC teams that will have first round byes...

Nice post. I am definitely enjoying the season! But you're right about people being pissy to each other. Recently I got called a "hater" on this board because I hadn't warmed up to TO. Funny thing is, Ive been called a lot of things but never in my wildest dreams would anyone who knows me call me a cowboy hater.

I guess I'm not a mindless homer. But hey, we're 10-1 and we're going to beat the Pack 53-0 yay!! Is that enough of a homer for some of ya?

Such issues would require deep and heavy thought, which is why I favor a more indiscriminate, broadband crushing of dissent... it spares me the necessity of overly straining my few remaining synapses...

If you take all the fun out of it, it just becomes work... thanks just the same, but I've already got a job, and it doesn't require me to think... :D

I have to admit, as happy as I have been this season, if we were to somehow get bounced in the divisional round of the playoffs, it would really hurt. It took me a good two months to get over the loss in the wildcard round last year.

But we're 6 1/2 weeks away from the first playoff game. For now, I'm just enjoying the ride. And the week that we once again claim the NFC East crown - that's going to be a special time.

I agree. I come to the board after a win and all I see is the sky is falling threads. It's like watching the Tuna in a press conference after a win. He could find negatives after every victory.

Maybe that's what happened to some folks around here. They watched the tuna so much, he started to rub off on em a bit. Just a theory I suppose.

How sweet it is to be 10-1.:star: :toast2:

Turkey was good, Da Boyz totally dominated, que mas quieres. La vida es bueno:starspin

Naw, I was disqualified when they found out I'm not crooked enough to screw my socks on... I was crushed...

I would have made a great neocon, I just know it...
