We have an entire generation who witnessed the 70s and 90s SB who've died and never saw their team make it again.

28 years is entirely too long. I'm ALL IN.
Millions of Bills fans are dead and never saw a Super Bowl win just like their fans that are alive. 49ers and Washington fans are in the same boat as the Cowboy fans and Washington has no hope in the upcoming year.

Any team that wins is lucky. They get lucky with injuries in a 20 game season and with plays like the out of bounds hit on Mahomes against the Bengals. Eagles were handed the 49ers game when Purdy went down. Bengals got the game changing fumble return earlier in the playoffs. Any team that wins gets lucky breaks.
Which is exactly why I don't want to mortgage future for a shot that isn't guaranteed.

I would be okay with being awful for a few years or more, if my team wins the Superbowl!

Do you realize how hard it is to win the Superbowl?

The average team only wins the Superbowl once every 32 years. Who cares if you have a few down years.

As a Dallas fan since the mid seventies, all the season just kind of run together, EXCEPT the years we won the Superbowl.

2nd Place doesn’t mean shi_ in the NFL!
so the eagles went all in and fell to 2nd so?? KC cut hill and other payers and won.. bargain basement for WRBC and RBBC , crazy how they won it all and are in it for the longer haul.,im all for a little more risk in FA but not to have 3+ under 500 bad seasons to follow after the al in blow the cap all the heckell. nope

I have no idea if the team would miss the playoffs or fall out of the 8 to 12 regular season win range for several years if they went all in. Keep in mind THIS is the standard the Joneses are looking to achieve. The "just good enough" model.

But to watch other teams achieve winning Super Bowls in a variety of front office moves while the Jones clan sticks to their "plan" has gotten awfully old.

Going on 3 decades now.

So yes, count me in on the all in or whatever changes the current approach to team management.
At this point, the reward is worth the risk imo.

At least the Cowboys are a contender and are better than more than half the league. I like what they are doing presently. They worked their plan and built a very good foundation that gives them a decent shot in 2023.

Yes I would go all in, but I don't think it necessairly means sacraficing all kinds of draft capital. What it does mean to me is being aggressive in free agency and upgrading a couple positions with proven players then taking the best available players in the draft.

This Cowboys team is a pretty good one and when you're close and have a pretty complete team already, just go for it.

They got lucky in free agency when they lost out on Gregory and Von Miller and Bobby Wagner. Now they might get Wagner this year. I think he would help this team. I suspect that they will be more aggressive this year.

Every year two or three teams go "all in". There are no guarantees. If they go "all in" and don't win a Super Bowl, the results could be devastating.
Not in this day and age. Teams other than the 5 cursed ones (Dallas, Washington, Detroit, Cleveland, and Miami) are able to compete at least once per decade. Some are able to contend, blow up, rebuild, and contend again within 5 years. We just watched Philly do this.

Translation: It's ok for the Cowboys to be managed incompetently because these other teams over here are bad. Don't ask questions or demand better. Just consume product and get excited for next product.

You don’t care about winning a Superbowl?
Making the playoffs every other year and losing is fine with you? Why?
Na. Super Bowls are nice, and yeah , making the playoffs every other year and losing is cool with me. As long as they don't blow it when there's really a chance to win it. All I'm saying is the aftermath

of going all in so to speak is utter catastrophe. Years of suckage, Na I'll take long time sustained REAL success over one time flash in the pan and then go away to futility for the next ten years. I never really had a lot to say to Mercs anyway,

No loyalty, not even the pretense of loyalty. No Thank You . Question your screen name is in reference to Cliff Harris, Cliff Harris or Deion Sanders ? See to me it ain't even close Cliff all day! He's a lifer Cowboy. That's all I'm

Saying. I'm not against Brothers getting their coin. I just like it when you re loyal

I think that the team isn't being managed incompetently presently. I can't say that when they are on pace to win 12 games for the third year in a row. I believe that they will get another 12 win season and compete for a championship this year.

A good chance that they bring Hankins back. It looks like they will sign a receiver and a dtackle. They need to hit on their free agents and the draft. They have a shot.

Sounds like we have some fans that don’t believe in going all in! Kinda like Jerry.

With our legacy( 5 Superbowl wins and 8 Superbowl appearances) or even without our legacy( the Rams legacy), I would go ALL in with the team we have right now!

Our legacy right now, is just below, New England and Pittsburghs legacies, and equal to the Whiners legacy. Everyone else is looking up at our legacy. This is after 27 LONG years of failure in the playoffs!!

I know some of you don’t think we can win a Superbowl with Dak, but WE can!
I know our D played well in the playoffs, but we all know, it could have played better( the long drive the Whiners had, the Whiners scored easily before the half). The D needs a couple of elite pieces to be a TRULY dominant D. We need an elite run stuffing DT to pair with Hankins, an elite LBer, Bobby Wagner, to free up Micah( add 15 pounds and rush the passer more) and possibly an upgrade at CB, though I do like our young CB’s.

With a few moves for the Defense, we will still have the draft capital, FA, and possible trades to improve our offense( a 2nd receiver, possible upgrades on the O line, and a middle round draft choice to replace Zek)

With a truly DOMINANT D and a strong running game, Dak can JUST drive the bus.

We need to go all in THIS YEAR to STRENGTHEN our LEGACY!

A SUPERBOWL victory puts us at the top of the NFL mountain!!!

Last season we didn't have to do anything too excessive. I would have:
  • Signed Bobby Wagner instead of Barr
  • Signed Daquan Jones instead of drafting Ridgeway
  • Kept Amari Cooper instead of Gallup

I feel like that probably would have been enough for us to be a lot more competitive in the playoffs. Particularly if we also signed Hankins and TY Hilton mid-season.

This season I want us to:
  • Sign Bobby Wagner instead of LVE and Barr
  • Sign a 320+ pound 8m+ per season DT, I'd not be against also bringing Hankins back
  • Cut Tyron Smith and sign a 10m+ guard
  • Add a veteran WR that can be expected to contribute 500+ yards
  • Franchise Pollard, Cut Zeke, restructure Dak and Martin
To me, that's what it would take for us to be properly competitive. We probably have a two-year window, once we have to pay Ceedee, Diggs, and Parsons and can't kick the can on Dak we're in a rebuild.

I watch the whole league and where the Rams are totally sucks. They are hard to watch. The Cowboys on the other hand are a good young exciting team to watch. The Cowboys are a contender.
Well there it is , jerry makes his $ off fans like you, who are satisfied to be a contender that is never going to win it all, and cant get past div round games.
The rams had a more exciting season in 21, and won the SB, they then lost some guys to FA and injuries, and stafford was knocked out for rest of the season.
The rams may be right back in it, depending on if McVay quits and if Stafford is ok, etc.

Dallas hasnt even been to a NFC champ game or just to a SB in almost 30 years.

It is worth a risk to try and get a SB here and there, and if FO is good, and coaches are good you can build another team in a few years.
Phil proved this, they won a SB and a few years later had rebuilt, new HC, and team and were back in the SB and lost by a last second FG.
That to me is way more exciting and satisfying than just being a contender that never makes it past div round.

the other thing is since dallas never gets past div round, are they really a contender, or is it just an illusion that they are??
I think it is all is just an illusion.
