Without Dak this roster doesn't have a chance

Point is that this is what the Ravens are known for........ the fact we couldn't complete the comeback against them just shows the depth of the hole our ineptitude the first 3 quarters created.
That sounds more like a talking point. Rosters turn over from year to year . What happened 5 years ago isn’t necessarily relative to this season.

Indeed, when you pay your QB only $10,000,000 a year, you can keep that good Defense and go out to add to it. That is my whole point about why we shouldn't have paid our quarterback I'm not sure why so many don't understand this? Let alone, your poor franchise might be able to find that change under the captain's seat in his yactht to sign, oh I dunno a RB?
Lol no. No one thinks that Dallas couldn't sign anyone....anyone who understands football knows that the Salary Cap is a joke and you can do whatever you want with it anyway.

We also had more money to spend than the vikings and have 25 million under the cap at the moment- which is more than they have. so what are you talking about?

Also, this is why everyone was pissed at the Joneses because we had the money and they refused to do anything.

You can replace Dak with Sam Darnold, Kirk Cousins, Fields, Carr, etc to achieve the same results. It really doesn't matter who the QB is if they continue to overpay just because they are scared to move on they will never build a winning team. They continually put themselves into tough spots due to over spending on their own players while being too scared to talk to most free agents.

Jerry: "We have no money to sign or even pick up a phone to talk to Henry"

Jerry has money now, and could have had it back in April. Oh we have spent it alright: aged DT's, and Dalvin Cook who isn't good enough to even have a cup of coffee up here. C'mon bud Jerry is the only owner crying poor in professional sports

Would not really need a run game if Dak could put the short throws in the right spot instead of in the dirt!
This is the stuff i'm referring to when fans of this team hold the QB to a ridiculous standard. The lack of a running game is Dak's fault because he can't be accurate on short passes? Dak is one of the most accurate QBs ever.

To some people on here its that he cant throw the long ball...and thats why he sucks. But now its that he can't throw short, and so thats why he is the issue. In fact, he is so much the issue that he would be the only QB in NFL history who doesnt really need a run game....

And you say this b/c he carved up the Ravens prevent defense or b/c of what he has done previously with a lot more talent around him?
He also benefitted from call after call by the refs in the 4th quarter that kept those drives going. Not to mention the safety that should have been called in the 1st half when he decided to throw to the Oline lol

This quarterback and his team get constantly boat raced by good teams and the OP wants to tell us he gives us a chance?

The highest contract in NFL history is above market value for a tier 2 QB. The Vikings and steelers are playing better defense. The Cowboys would be better off paying for a better defense and getting a cheaper QB like the Vikings.
Yes , it’s above . But I’d argue 5 million above is still in the neighborhood of Market Price much like in low 50’s would be.

And I agree. But this organization is not as well built as those. Our ownership and FO is our greatest weakness and hurdle to overcome.

Defense this era hasn’t been a priority. Our owner still thinks the Triplets won those championships.

That’s another argument in previous seasons .

All I know is without an above average type QB like Dak this roster had no chance of a comeback yesterday.

And most likely without a running game and or rushing defense have no chance without our QB and passing game .

That doesn’t mean he’s great, etc but it is what it is. Without him we absolutely have no chance with this roster.
And you can't improve this roster when you have a greedy quarterback milking every penny and a dumb owner who gives it to him.

he KNOWS the tripletts sold the views, thats the problem...he may WANT to win but he values other things above it...

Sam Darnold is making 1/6th the contract our QB is. Missing one WR, and the best WR in the NFL is hobbled
Now all of a sudden Darnold is great because he plays for a better team? Too bad we didn’t pick up Aaron Jones who had 102 yards of rushing yesterday for the Vikings. All three of our backs combined for only 50 yards yesterday. The Texans had 38 yards rushing yesterday against Minnesota. Too bad we don’t have the Vikings run defense. Ours has given up almost 500 rushing yards the past two weeks. Sam Darnell would look no better with us than he did with the Jets. Get real!

The biggest flaw of this team has always been the FO. This team has been failing for nearly as long as Dak has been alive.
Billboard material. Guys should really take a minute and think about your second statement. Jerry Jones has failed miserably as a GM for 28 years. Dak has been alive for 31 years. Let that sink in for a while.

Dak does not provide the significant competitive advantage that you would expect from a QB you continue to pay at the top of the market for at the time of signing. That's a problem when the player is eating up almost 20% of the cap.

The Cowboys are a team on the decline and need to rebuild from the inside out. They have made strides on the OL, but continue to hamstring themselves with head scratching contracts for injured and way past prime players.

The defense is a mess and the running game is nonexistent, continually retooled with Jags and Joes. Their best player is a Kicker and the team shows no sign of having a fight in them.

A big time QB is not what they need right now, and even though they spent that kind of money for one, they certainly came up short upon appraisal.

Dak deserves what he gets for folding and taking the money for sure..he could've walked and gone somewhere that wants to win and save his rep..so i have no apathy for what he gets now...saying that what QB would thrive in this team how its currently constructed? If you believe Jerry would have built the team diferent had he not signed Dak then youl have to forgive me if i dont really believe it based on history...

It doesn’t mean any of those defensive players would turn out to be any good. We’ve been struggling for years and years, trying to find a real good DT. We blew a first round pick on one last year. We have no running game. Darnold’s inconsistencies will start to show as the season goes on. The most passes he’s had to attempt all season was 28. Dak had to attempt 51 passes yesterday because the entire game was thrown on him. The Cowboys aren’t a good team and the losses are likely to pile up this season with a defense that ranks 29th and a run defense that ranks dead last. Our rushing offense ranks 29th. We’ll be lucky to win 8 games.
