Preach they on that down south math lol
No his math was actually incorrect. 2022 was the final year in which Zeke's base rate was guaranteed at the start of the league year. His entire cash payout for next year (10.9 million) is solely based on his roster status and zero of it is protected

I hope he does. Hopefully he recognizes he’ll never get 10 million again unless it’s on incintives
Question for all! Been a member for a long time and so are family members. They have no issue but I can’t post a topic or like comments. I can reply but that’s it. Always logged in too. Any suggestions?

Pretty sure it’s not guaranteed. At least not according to spotrac or overthecap and media speculation about being his final year.

Ok I just checked. The same rule applies however. Even though he's not guaranteed the money, he's an 11M dead cap. They are paying a minimum of 11 million no matter what. His cap hit is 16M. Not much room for a pay cut.

…….Post June 1st cut saves the entire 10.9m base salary.

And the pay cut would more so facilitate a restructure that reduces his cap number in 2023 (similar to D-Law this year) so it’s of lesser but still significant benefit.

I don't know what happens in the future, but right now, his presence in the locker room makes a difference.

If we are 4th and 1 at the goaline to actually get a ring, I want the ball in Zeke's hands.

It defers his 10.9m, right?

I love these people that say never. He’s very important to this Team, make no mistake about it. People think we’re going to be the same without him, we’re not

Zeke and Tyron, if Smith is able to return at all are possibly both going to be 'offered' a reduced contract, in favor of not being cut. Those two savings, as @DanA mentioned, Post June1st Zeke to fund last minute trade/FA's/trade deadline pick ups.

Isnt the 2023 draft supposed to be pretty strong on RB's?

Why not cut him after June 1st next year? Isn't the cap hit more palatable?
Simple equation, keep Zeke next year the cap number is ~16.7 million, post June 1st cap hit ~ 5 million.
Seems like a no brainer

I bet he’ll do it, ask for guaranteed money and then play injured for 2ypc.

Zeke is worn! It's time to replace him with young fresh legs.

You'll need to post more first. You only have a limited number of posts so far, and your "New Member" status will change after you have made a certain number of posts I believe. It's not based on how long you've been signed up. A mod could correct me/elaborate if necessary.

Dead cap has already been paid to him so he doesn't care, he's concerned about his base rate because that's the only money he'll get.

They'd save like 27 million over the next 2 years if cut, that's a good savings

IN a perfect world Pollard doesn't go for broke and whatever hes asking we can offer, and Zeke takes that large pay cut and we get both in 23 for the same price as 2022 , money just shifts. is either player willing to do team friendly deal?? no one knows.

most keep selling the idea we dont need high paid or highly paid RB to succeed, so why all the sign pollard as if you are scared to lose him.. how about a reboot, let them both go if they are unwilling to do team friendly deals, so they can both stay?

you say why should they, look at what Brady has done in the past , look at JimmyG he could have easily forced his way off the roster but redid his deal stayed and all of sudden hes back starting again because of injury,.soem unselfish and players with common sense do exist, do ours? can Zeke see the writing on the wall, get cut and go elsewhere not make more money , retire, or take pay cut stay and share the backfield with Pollard.. Pollard should see that as well. how much more money is worth leaving for?

then we give Malik a shot plus go draft a 2-4 round RB.. easy Peasy right? they are dime a dozen according to the Zone. easy to replace. some zoners think we can go get any big athletic dude working at Home depot and make THEM a rb.

so IMO who cares we roll with a couple of nobody's and still can succeed next year , taking advice from the zone.. ;)

in reality, what is pollards max worth? what ios zekes lowest number?
