Wordle the word game that’s all the craze

I played this game in college with my roommate, on paper of course because it was 1976. The game then was called Jotto. The way it worked is each of us wrote down a 5 letter word which is the secret word. Then we would take turns to see who could guess the other guy's word first by using 5 letter words as guesses. It is kind of like playing Battleship with letters. So Wordle is not new, although the name of the game might be.

By the way, you can download free versions of the game (called different names of course) that allow you to play again and again. I have been using one called Wordlee for my iPhone which is pretty good. But there are a few others.
This is pretty cool though, because I imagine I'd get burnt out on this game if I played to the point of addiction, plus sharing our results (as vague as we are about it) is kind of fun.

Three guesses again today, Saturday...

Third try yesterday. About to get after today's. Feeling the pressure of keeping the streak alive. I don't want to have to ask you guys for the answer. lol

Free unlimited clone on the web ..

The creator called the game "Wordle" most likely because his last name is "Wardle".

The New York Times paid 7 figures for the rights to his game. I wonder if they knew it was not an original idea :D

Also, I just checked and 4 oganizations have already filed "Wordle" related trademarks in 2022 :D

7 figures! Yikes. I played pinball and Bridge in college too. I wonder if the NY Times will pay me for the rights to those games?
