Everyone knew mexico was going to make it?

I could be wrong, and i will admit as i already have, that i dont watch concacaf qualifications, but didnt the US save mexico? Werent they out without that late comeback from the us vs panama?

No If US wouldve lost Mexico had to win their final game. US won so they just needed a tie. But they won anyways

That was 2012 in a U-23 tournament. Since then, they scraped through CONCACAF. Mexico is average.

You are actually right, if the US doesn't score the last minute goal against Panama, Mexico is out of the world cup.

Just finished watching the game...........stayed away from all media outlets until I could watch it. What an awesome game, except for the Altidore injury.....

I do have a question......if altidore is out for the tourney, can we bring in a reserve from the 7 that were cut from the 30 man practice squad?

Ghana Just needs time to learn. Cameroon was the same way and they grew together.

US defense needs help. If it wasnt for Howard and some inaccuracy from Ghana they wouldve lost. Have to give Klinsmann credit for taking a chance on brooks late.

I would be incredibly surprised if Mexico Even gets a draw today... a one goal loss would be a solid showing

Mexico is a team full of headcases.

They could've easily been a solid pick to actually win this world cup but over the last 4 years they have done nothing but regress.

Mexico is good, they could even beat Brazil today, but they are an underachieving bunch.

Everybody knew Mex was making it. This team just won the Olympics gold medal against this same Brazilian team 2 yrs ago. Alot of bull was happening the past couple yrs with the mexican federation and them going after a competent coach. They were going after coaches who wanted to leave this generations main parts off national team games and fans hated that. Go off someplace and play with your thumbs. Leave the soccer discussion for fans who enjoy the game.

Mexico was not going to make it.
In fact their own performance doomed them to miss altogether.

Only two late US goals(meaningless for an already qualified US side) saved them.

But Mexico is playing much better now and could do some damage this Cup.

yes, they can. and donovan has said he will stay ready in case said call came.

But much of the Mexican reputation has been built winning or tying matches versus Brazil.
They have seemed to match up well.

But in this world cup??? If Mexico is competitive that's a big sign for them going forward.
