Yea I know, another Romo and Dak thread. Lets say Dak starts off hot, and has the team a winning record and is playing good, so Dallas decides to keep him as the starter. Do yall think Romo would request a trade, or just be the backup?
No team would trade for Romo because of the contract.

He said on Ben & Skin a couple of months ago he would never leave Dallas because he owes it to the fans to try and win here.

the only thing i can see romo doing if he doesn't play anymore would become something within the organization when he retires.

The 'unwritten' rule in professional sports is that a starter shouldn't lose his spot due to injury. Now, it's been done quite a few times but with Ginger @ the helm, this rule still applies. As long as Tony can throw/walk/crawl/roll/sleep walk on the field, he's the starter when he's ready.

It hasn't just been just one injury with Romo it's been repeated injuries the past 4 years that's put the team in a bind. He's had 3 different back injuries. The one game he missed in 2013 helped cost us a playoff spot. His collarbone injury last season led to a 4-12 season. If Dak plays well and leads the team to the playoffs I don't see Romo getting his job back. You can't depend on him to stay healthy and if you're winning with a young QB you stay with them. If you sit Dak after a great rookie campaign and a solid season for the team the fanbase would be up in arms.

I can't think of this because I'm trying to figure out which year Zeke will pass Emmitt in total rushing yards.

Unless he has a set back in his recovery, Romo will start when healthy and it's not Garrett's choice. Booger is not going to allow for Romo to go out like that after all the times he's gone to battle for him.

He probably would use the playbook as a reason. Prescott has been playing with a reduced playbook and doesn't know the complete one yet and the more film they get on Prescott, the harder this will be,

This is Romo's team, not Dak's and that's not changing unless he's not healthy enough.

The "UnWitten" rule says he doesn't go anywhere without his BFF.

Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you at all. Just made that statement because of the coach and his lack of gonads when it comes to causing 'his guys' to get upset.

Garrett's gonads better have been plated with brass this season because time is running out for him faster than it is for Romo. If we miss the playoffs again this season and can't break 500 that will be the 5th full season under Garrett in his 6 full seasons as the head coach in which that's happened. That would be one of the worst if not the worst records by a head coach with the same team.

It's a dumb premise, but an interesting question. I'm sure Favre never thought he would leave Green Bay and play for the Vikings. I actually can totally see Tony playing somewhere else for a season or two. Once your career is over it's over, so don't leave with any doubt.

Its silly though because no one would ever trade for his contract. He would ask to be released in the offseason if Dak is the next Russell Wilson. then he would be free to sign with whoever he wants.

no way would he agree to a trade to sit somewhere else and no way would anyone ever trade for his contract.

he's much closer to that than ever playing somewhere else.
